11 Eylül tarzı terör saldırıları sonrası, özellikle ülkemizde Gezi zamanı ve 15 Temmuz sonrasında güvenlik önlemleri bahanesiyle bireylerin kişisel özgürlüklerini kısıtlayan uygulamalar arttı. Devletler, terörle mücadele gerekçesiyle vatandaşların özel hayatlarını daha fazla gözetlemeye başladılar. En basit bir siyasi tweet atmak bile büyük bir suç haline geldi, sosyal medya paylaşımları tarandı ve fikir özgürlüğü suç sayıldı. Sansür uygulandı, yasaklar getirildi. Gerekirse, devletler bankanızdaki paraya ve tapulu evinize el koyabilir. Bu durum, bireylerin gizlilik ve özgürlük arayışında daha radikal çözümler aramasına neden oldu ancak mevcut sistemler bu ihtiyacı karşılamıyordu. Nasıl olacağını bilemiyorduk imkansız gibi geliyordu fakat burada Bitcoin sessiz sedasız devreye girdi. Bitcoin, taşıması, saklaması, dayanıklılığı ve bölünebilirliği ile tam mülkiyetin bizde olduğu bir değer saklama aracı olarak kendisini sunuyor. It’s interesting because over in the mainstream world, everyone seems to be enthralled with ‘proof of humanity’ as the ultimate solution to trust and the A.I. malaise. Just because you’re human doesn’t mean I should like you or trust you. Just because you’re a bot, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t find you useful. The WoT is a great way to enable nice people and good bots on the terms of whatever the WoT decides to set. The relays are a great start for permissionless WoTs.

All this to say, I am seeing way more creative thinking and solutions here than over there.
