The last clip in the reel is taken when we finally crossed the border to Denmark - ending a 6 week trip bringing Vela home all the way from Portugal ๐ต๐น and then beginning to make her our new home while preparing and making plans for the circumnavigation in the near futureโต๏ธ
We have learned a lot about how we want practical things on board because of our choice to be a liveaboard, so she will get even more perfect for us ๐คฉ๐๐๏ธ๐๐ณ๐๐ผ
Being a liveaboard has its advantages, especially when it comes to finding smart and secure storage solutions. This in particular has resulted in us making some smaller changes in the layout and more to come ๐ ๏ธ๐ช๐

My name is Signe, I am co-skipper of Vela ๐
Before 2016 I hadnโt really been sailing much and I definitely would NOT call myself a sailor.
I grew up in a small fishing village, Skรฆrbรฆk, with my mom, dad and 3 older brothers.
My dad tried many times to get me and my brothers inspired to do some kind of sailing, but without any luck.. Until! Long story short, he made his dream come true and he bought a boat in Norway and made it all the way to the Canary Islands and it was around here where I saw my shot for a ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE! We crossed the Atlantic and then I was hooked! ๐ช
I got back to Denmark a few months later, joined the Royal Danish Navy, stayed for a bit, met the sweetest little sailor and here we are! ๐

This is VELA! She is a Beneteau Oceanis 44CC from 2003. This is the boat that we intend to use to explore the world in the near future ๐๏ธ
We bought the boat the 1st of June 2021 and sailed it along the west coast of Europe from Portimaฬo, Portugal, and arrived in Sรธnderborg, Denmark, the 13th of July โต๏ธ
Since we got back to Denmark we have lived on board the boat which most of the time have been a lot of fun, maybe more about that later on ๐
We bought the boat in order to do a lot of fun and beautiful sailing but first we need to do some upgrades!
