Natural systems like forests have developed ecological tactics to ensure the maximum conservation of energy based on their local resource base. To the extent the individual can succeed is based on their point in time along the succession continuum of a forest stand.

Bitcoin very much models a natural system like a forest. We have different people, and network participants at different stages of development.

Over time the forest projects itself in the way that it can ensure maximal resilience over the long run. Individuals compete for resources, and resilience in aggregate grows.

The individual benefits the collective.

Machine to machine payments is a mind blowing thought. Machines competing on a free market to deliver value to humans and constrained by their capacity to stretch every Satoshi they earn.

That is the sci fi dream that could really free humans from the 40 hour work week, the commute in to an office where their time is only 60% affective, and the time spent away from families and our communities.
