nostr:npub18hyl92mmr8uypkz4dc0w5d55uqa7ym8rqc3x2esmjjnj3s8vf6ds0zeavz I just got finished watching your movie No More Inflation at https://nomoreinflation.com

Great job. I hope we can get this work in front of many more no-coiners’ eyes.

It’s a real challenge conveying the shift in mindset, spirit and hope for the future that an entire culture can experience when starting to save in Bitcoin. But you have succeeded in doing this.

I was talking to my boss about the economy some months back, and he actually took pause when I told him that the biggest casualty of inflation is his employees’ ability to dream and plan for the future.

He actually seemed shocked to hear this coming from one of his senior managers. He still really believes that by local industry standards, that I am paid quite well. I explained to him that because he has been a business owner for a couple of decades, he has yet to feel the sting of inflation the way his employees currently are, including me, because wages are sticky and remain fairly static through it.

He really didn’t seem to like it when I pointed out to him that I’m likely the only person in the company aside from him that understands that we are effectively working for 25-30% less pay than we were only 4 years ago. All while he continues to amass capital, buy equipment and purchase real estate.

I don’t really care. It’s a dead end anyway. I could do the same type of job down the street for another equally exploitive asshole while I continue to try building outside of this system.

I’m using 2.0 on the Canadian-accessible App Store. As it stands now, I’ve had incoming and outgoing zaps working on Damus for a year or so, but I have had to use the zap zap zap script at times to make it work for sending zaps. It’s pretty convoluted. I’ve been hesitant to mess with my Damus setup because it is working.

In the Alby Hub App Store, it appears there is only support for connecting to Primal on an Android device.

My wallet settings screen looks different than this. It’s just has a toggle for “start in wallet”. And a place to put n my LN address. Is there a way to use my Alby Hub to both send and receive zaps in Primal? I just keep getting dumped over to a wallet activation screen where they want me to fill out all the KYC info. Thx

Cool. I was poking around in settings and hadn’t been able to figure it out yet

'Tom Sawyer' by Rush

Did you know?

Imagine a song that captures the spirit of a free-thinking rebel, blending the literary world of Mark Twain with the progressive rock genius of Rush. "Tom Sawyer" isn't just a track—it's a musical revolution that emerged from an unlikely collaboration and became a defining moment in rock history.

https://youtu.be/auLBLk4ibAk

The song's genesis is as unique as its complex musical structure. Lyricist Pye Dubois, from the band Max Webster, originally penned a poem about a "modern-day rebel"—a free-spirited individualist navigating the world with wide-eyed purpose. Neil Peart, Rush's legendary drummer, transformed this initial concept, adding layers of personal introspection about reconciling boyhood and manhood, and exploring the gap between perception and reality.

Recorded for their breakthrough 1981 album Moving Pictures, the song initially left the band themselves underwhelmed. Geddy Lee candidly admitted they thought it was the "worst song on the record" during initial recording. Yet, something magical happened in the mix—the track would become what Lee now calls "the quintessential Rush song."

Musically, "Tom Sawyer" is a technical marvel. The song features a daring 7/8 time signature during its instrumental section—a trademark of Rush's complex musical approach. Alex Lifeson's guitar solo was famously improvised, with the guitarist claiming he "winged it" in just five takes, capturing a raw, spontaneous energy.

The song's impact extends far beyond the music world. It has been featured in numerous TV shows and movies, from Futurama to The Sopranos, and even played a pivotal plot role in the TV series Chuck, where the song's mathematical patterns help prevent World War III. On their tours, Rush embraced the song's cultural cachet, even creating hilarious South Park-themed introductions that played on the track's iconic status.

On the Canadian mockumentary television sitcom Trailer Park Boys the song was used during the fifth episode of Season 3. In Martin Popoff's book "Rush: Album by Album", it was said that Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson approached the Trailer Park Boys' Mike Clattenburg about being in an episode. The band became a fan of the show while watching it while on tour. The episode is titled "Closer to the Heart."

Commercially and critically, "Tom Sawyer" became a landmark. It peaked at number 24 in Canada and number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2009, VH1 ranked it 19th on their list of 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. By 2010, it was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame—a testament to its enduring legacy.

What began as a collaborative poem about a rebellious spirit became an anthem that continues to resonate with generations. "Tom Sawyer" isn't just a song—it's a musical portrait of individualism, complexity, and the ongoing dialogue between youth and maturity.

There should be an option in #primal to connect a different wallet. Or am I missing something? They’d have greater adoption without this limitation.

Just bought a view pass. Can’t wait to watch this tonight! Good job staying the course and putting your heart and soul into this. We need to start getting films like this screened in public schools.

It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas. +1.4°F and the house is slowly getting decorated.

There are two things that are rarely wrong. Your mother and your gut instincts.

Zakk Wylde has incredible chops and uses the whah pedal in the weirdest and most innovative ways. He’s even got a pretty good voice for metal. As evidenced from some of the singles in his solo effort as frontman for Black Label Society.

Holy shit you saw him LIVE? I just barely missed him in Vancouver in about 1992. Aside from Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, likely tied for my fav 3 guitarists, all for different reasons. The absolute master of sweep picking arpeggios.

While the vocals and lyrics are kind of ass, the guitar solo at 3:15 in this song stands as one of my favourites of all time. Yngwie Malsteen, on the Marching Out album. 1985.

And the best part is, you no longer have to be asleep to believe it. 🤙🏽

Nice to be able to thumb one’s nose at the IMF

Nucleon Energy just did a presentation to our district council to explore site selection possibilities and test public support for two co-located 300MW modular nuclear reactors in our area, two and a half hours northeast of Edmonton, AB.

If this goes ahead, there’s going to be a huge opportunity up here for Bitcoin mining and high performance compute. Could mean hundreds of new jobs.

The timeline, given the extensive three stage permitting process, would likely be in the order of 7-8 years.
