Another rough day at the office. Patrolling electrical transmission lines for a bid. All cross country, miles from driveable roads, 3 hours from home. Made it back to the truck and trailer in the tracked side by side with only one bar of fuel left. Fun day! Lots of Moose, Deer, Coyote and Wolf sign, and even got a rare glance of a Bobcat. I can’t believe I scored a few pictures of him!

I wish I could inspire more people in my life to learn how to work with PGP key pairs. It doesn’t matter what platform I send info to myself from or to, be it Linux, MacOS or Windows. At least good enough for a pleb like me.

Largely protein and animal fat diet. Limiting blue light an hour and a half before bed. Using blue light glasses when necessary. Stacking sats, because hope is medicine and our country doesn’t give me much hope without it. Starting a garden. Stop stressing at work and believing the extra hours and effort was ever going to earn me a fair share of the profits I’m helping generate.

I’m starting to learn what I need in order to start raising rabbits. For many reasons, rabbits are so much more versatile than meat birds. Not to say that a family can’t have both, but there’s a lot of practical benefits to rabbitry, especially if you’re in town or in a rural subdivision.

We had such a great active day yesterday. We hiked the snowy bush road to get down to one of my favourite places nearby, the Sand River loop. In the summer, because the river hooks back on itself so hard, you can put in with a floaty or an inner tube, float and swim for 40 minutes, and end up only 20 yards from where you started. In a good afternoon, you can do 2-3 runs of it, breaking in between to lay on the sand and cook stuff on a fire.

While we are months away from being able to swim, a single snowmobile track had packed down a trail on the loop just enough that we were able to walk most of it without breaking through the snow every second step. It was heaven.
