It was very dry with rainfalls from 0mm to 183mm,only 2 stations out of 24 were wetter than average (right).

Hottest spots in USA today: 97F Rio Grande TX and ... 96F Hartford AP CT. This ties the highest temperature ever recorded in April in the State of Connecticut. Dozens more stations set a record for the first half with up to 94F in PA,93F in MA and NJ and 92F in NY,NH and RI.

Incredible and unprecedented heat in NE USA with up to 96F at Hartford, Connecticut. This ties its hottest April day on records and it's the highest temperature ever recorded in the 1st half of April in the whole Northeast.

March 2023 Globally,according to JMA-Japan Meteorological Agency,had a temperature anomaly of +0.50C above the 1991-2020 and tied 2020 as the 2nd warmest March on records just behind 2016 (+0.57C).

JMA,NOAA,NASA,Copernicus and Berkeley Earth all agreed for a 2nd place.

Yesterday 12 April,Lower 48 US highest temperature of 96F was recorded in 3 stations of Arizona and at Atwood in Kansas (which had its second hottest April day on records,behind the record set last year).

Having the US hottest station outside TX,CA,AZ and FL is very uncommon.

March 2023 Globally, according to Berkeley, was the 2nd warmest March on records, agreeing with the Copernicus ranking and preliminary JMA data.

Compared to February, temperature anomalies have risen sharply driven by the end of La Niña and an exceptional warmth in Asia.
