NIP-05/NIP-35 defines a way to announce to other users/clients on which relay they may find and reach you.

It's not meant to be the place to set your relay-list to be used by your #nostr client, afaik.

NIP-42 is client authentication in relays.

Vitor is referring to Vida's 2 steps auth via #nostr DM.

Actually it's a principle extensible to other engineering disciplines, even to some aspects outside technology too.

NIP-05 is not verification, it's just a way to add a DNS alias for a pubkey.

I don't understand why #nostr Public Chats aren't used more for #nostr conversations instead of other platforms as Telegram.

Zaps/LN tips won't give a better signal that other reactions, as all of them could be easily gamed.

It's not important just what "anyone says".

Something it's valuable depending on 'who' says it. And each one of us define our preferred list of 'whos'.

Web of Trust (kindof) is the way to obtain some signal from the noise, imo.

There's not a general consensus.

And it shouldn't be.

That's the beauty of a decentralised communication protocol, it doesn't care about the specific message.

Sorry, but why do you believe that monetary reactions won't produce also those "toxic social mechanics"?

What about adding a badge (!) to the profile picture of a reported user?

It should be also a good idea to add some explanation somewhere:

"Q: Why this user flagged as reported?

A: Some of your contacts have reported this user as..."

muted list, is not released yet but you can try it in https://new-ui.snort-social.pages.dev/ you'll be able to mute (public) or block (private) accounts soon.

Why mute is public and block is private?

In Twitter it's exactly the opposite:

- Mute is private (nobody knows who you mute)

- Block is public (at least to the blocked)

Doesn't this make more sense?

I did see at the bottom the text "N-Profile", but didn't see any QR, sorry.

Nice to hear you also generate nprofile QR!! πŸ‘

That could also be useful to prevent accidental logout without privkey backups.

Twitter integration with #nostr protocol is the way to go, imo.

😏

nprofile > npub

What about sharing nprofiles instead of npubs?

That way the relay information could be used to check if some relay must be added to follow the user properly.
