As soon as my data is made available, I will be deactivating all of my and OC Recording's centralized social media accounts including FB, IG, X, YouTube and LinkedIn. These are wonderful tools in many respects, but behind their facades are mass censorship, selling of private data and woke ideologies that I refuse to support any longer. I'm but a small fish in their oceans, but what I'm doing I hope will set a tone for others to follow. Fortunately, there is a far superior decentralized alternative called #nostr which I will devote my efforts to going forward. It's an entire ecosystem comprising many different sites, but recommend getting started at https://primal.net The key differences are that nobody owns and monetizes your data, there's no centralized tracking system, no censorship and creators can be rewarded with instant #Bitcoin payments by other users.

My mom is interested in joining #nostr. I was going to set up her own node and relay but prefer not to go to the trouble until she's had a chance to get into it and see how she likes it. Is it possible to setup a basic primal account for her then later migrate her npub to her own lightning node? Or perhaps there's a better way I'm unaware of. Preciate the feedback!

Just finished reading this masterly tome by nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a ….it’s required reading for anyone who wants to know how the world got into the current financial mess and what the individual can do to protect themselves from the consequences of fiat debasement and the ever increasing government and corporate attacks on our privacy.

Seriously considering deleting ALL my centralized social media accounts and rebuilding everything on #nostr
It goes into so many topics, difficult to summarize (almost 700 pages) but the title says it well -- 'unlearn the lies you've been taught to beleive'. The author beautifully touches on the major happenings around us orchestrated by high powers that most people are oblivious to. From past to current events and the ideologies behind them. What I like is that the author doesn't preach but lays out facts and thought provoking quotes which allows the reader to draw his own conclusions. It touches on Bitcoin and issues with central banking but is much more than another Bitcoin or economics book. Moreso global world affairs, the state, anarchy and finding truth.
Only halfway through, but all I can say is
