Should the U.S. Ban the Muslim Brotherhood? My friend and colleague @faisalalmutar and I examine the serious implications of such a step, and we recommend against it for a number of philosophical and practical reasons. There are other more efficient measures for dealing with radical Islamists than this ban.

This was a goode event. The situation in Syria remains n flux, but there are reasons to be optimistic for the first time in decades.
Our European allies, especially Baltic states, have a lot to learn from Taiwan. In today's fractured political scenes, determined continuous creative lobbying is a must in order to build and maintain healthy alliances.
This is a horrific development. The personal data and passport info of over 3.3 million Syrian refugees in #Türkiye have been leaked on #Telegram. Turkish authorities claim that a 14-old boy was behind the leak. But that begs the question of who actually provided this boy with such massive private database that was supposed to be controlled by the Turkish Ministry of Interior.
Every Syrian refugee can now be targeted by hate-mongers. In fact, ultra-nationalist groups are already sharing the list with some of them using the message “DEPORT OR KILL.” For years now, Syrian refugees have been the target of racist hate speech for years now. Both opposition groups and the ruling party are complicit in this. Illegal deportation of refugees, separating families and seeding chaos, have been taking place for months. The encampments in Northeast #Syria that have been receiving these refugees are poorly serviced and have been hard hit by the earthquake in 2023. The flow of humanitarian aid has been very sporadic and slow, as Turkish authorities seek to normalize relations with the Assad regime, ignoring international resolutions, sanctions and the concerns of Syrian refugees.
And now, we have mob violence targeting the refugees, destroying property and creating a climate of fear. Few have been killed. With chaos being sown, Türkiye will reap the whirlwind, and Syrians will be the cannon fodder, again.
Leopoldo Lopez, our Secretary General @WLCongress, addressed the Human Rights Council in Geneva yesterday, as one of the thousands victims of arbitrary detention in #Venezuela by the Maduro’s regime. We must stand united against the rising alliance of autocracies in the world. #UnitedAgainstDictators.
OK. Having finally created a Lightening Address, I am ready to give this platform more of my attention. Zap away, if you feel like it. In the meantime, here's another of my AI creations using DALL.E-3, titled "Yearning."

Do you want to be empowered and feel represented on the basis of your values, or on the basis of your identity? While there are intersections between identity and values, the two are not the same. An order based on classical liberal values, for example, allows much room for free expression of identity. Moreover, it allows much room for continuous correction and improvement. An identity-based order, on the other hand, does not allow much room for free expression for those who don't share that identity, and often serves as an instrument of supression of their basic rights. As such, the answer to the question above has many existential implications and seems to be the one that is imposing itself on us at this stage, and on a global level. Therefore, we each need to have an answer. Personally, I prefer an order based on classical liberal values.
I am new to this. But it seems quite promising. And Jack's behind it, which is a plus. Here's an artwork created using DALL.E-3.
