1. Don't get into the details, invite them to your podcast for a Nostr live interview on zap.stream (you can later decide to edit it and upload to YouTube or you can forward the live directly to YouTube, your choice).
2. A few minutes before going live, tell them to download Primal on their phone and get everything ready (wallet included). Then have them write their first post with the hastag #introductions
3. Send them some sats if you wish, start the stream and invite those on the stream to send them sats. Gauge their reaction.
4. Tell them that's their money to keep, no intermediaries or withholding period and no currency conversion problems. Anyone in the world can send value in a frictionless way.
5. Briefly explain that there are many "apps" like Primal, but it doesn't matter which one you use, once you log in to one, all your followers and posts go with you. You own your own following and identity.
6. Offer to help guide them behind the scenes if they ever need it. Also, they can just post a question on Nostr with the hashtags #asktr #asknostr and many of us will be more than willing to help.

For me, it depends on whether I'm there with them in person, or if we're chatting over the internet.
If I'm there to hold their hand, these are the steps I've been doing that work very well:
1) Give them the quick spiel on the client/relay model and why it's awesome
2) Get them setup with nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0ds2g5zx8 on their phone (the built-in โก๏ธ wallet is a major step-saver)
3) Have them make a killer #introductions post, with a couple pictures of themselves and a quality intro on why they're unique/awesome
4) Show them how their post appears on a completely different client on my phone, and send them some zaps
5) I have them download a second client on their phone and log in, so they get a feel for this multi-app dynamic ( nostr:nprofile1qqs24yz8xftq8kkdf7q5yzf4v7tn2ek78v0zp2y427mj3sa7f34ggjcpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyg8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnddakj703s8dt / nostr:nprofile1qqsraldwhvwcjgltmxwfu7kw8dqef2692yhzheuurd7k3kfy8cxjdqgpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3samnwvaz7tmhv4kxxmmdv5hxummnw3ezuamfdejsz9thwden5te0v4jx2m3wdehhxarj9ekxzmnype9f6h depending on their phone)
6) I have them pull up their Primal wallet so they can see the zaps I sent them earlier, and by this point usually a few other friendly introducers have zapped as well
7) I show them my own wallet with six-figure sats in it, and describe to them the big-picture vision on how this is REAL MONEY earned by posting thoughts & memes, which can now be used in the real world.
After all of the above, I've seen a very high ๐คฏ rate.
NOW...if I'm DMing someone over the internet, I take a different approach. I usually focus on smaller steps, i.e. touchpoints and educational resources, since as they'll be going through the steps themselves, they'll need a stronger foundation on WHY #nostr is so powerful.

A representation of Nostr at (non) bitcoin events can be a costly endeavor but can be highly vital to explain and grow the concept that is Nostr. Since the primary question with onboarding often times results in installing or suggesting a client to get started with, we are somewhat providing a free marketing service for these clients. So a wild funding suggestion ๐ค At some point in time it will make sense for Nostr Clients to self represent at events, but for now it would maybe make sense to bundle the efforts into a Nostr Clients Flyer so that we can highlight the unsiloed data structure & interoperability.
