You will run out of wipes when baby has the biggest poop

which rules do you know?

I'm also 4 hours away from my bestie and hardly ever see them. we try to make an effort to do a yearly trip but who knows if it'll happen this year or next cuz we're both super busy. I miss the youthful days when we could just be like "Vegas? this weekend? yeah? yeah. pick you up Friday after work."

oof I don't know anymore. I used OKCupid but I think that isn't good anymore.

with online dating it is really important to write your profile to attract the kind of person you want to be with. also, good photos are important.

I could go on and on about online dating tips tbh. most importantly, you have to know yourself and what kind of life you want to share with another person.

I met my best friend in high school. it's been decades now. we've had periods of time where we saw each other daily and other times when we didn't talk to each other at all.

The friends I spend the most time with now are through my husband. his bestie from college and his wife. his other college friends. Husband is much better at socializing and maintaining friendships.

I met my husband pretty late in life and we met through online dating. So I guess that counts?

taro is my baby's nickname :)

I don't know what this says about me, but I really like eating with these spoons that I got for taro. the shape and size is so perfect.

In a few days, I'll be heading to Taiwan, my second home. I'm really excited for taro to get on a plane. He won't remember it because he'll be too little just like I was on my first flight.

I hope as he grows up that he'll see Taiwan as I do. Not a travel destination or a vacation spot, but home.

It'll be the first time I'm flying with an infant. I feel prepared but can't help feeling nervous about doing something for the first time.

I'm focusing on that moment when I get out of the Taoyuan airport and take that first breath of Taiwan air. I'll feel more grounded then. #momstr

love this โค๏ธ I worked with an instructor as their marketing/photographer/videographer in California. we ran loads of classes and drill days. man, I miss being in the range.

yeah it looks pretty cool but I don't have long stretches of free time to sit down for video games like that anymore ๐Ÿ˜”

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

yeap, this gal has fallen into the Warhammer 40k trap. time to paint some miniatures and nerd out.

in parenting, there are good days and there are bad days. Then there are "I can't believe you pooped into my hand" days. #momstr

Today was Anarcoooooooooon!

We usually camp the full Friday through Sunday event, but this year, because of the rescheduling, nostr:npub1jrx2fk666k5nt8vgak9xwyxlgcwh8fl9rvpwvvcpdthuqkcnptrqdfhtaq and I were only able to come down for one day. We brought my pottery and I actually sold some despite the lower than usual turnout.

Each year, theyโ€™ve held a Toxic Masculinity competition with spear- and axe-throwing (that USED to be coedโ€ฆ!)

This year, for the first time, they also held a Tradwife competition ๐Ÿ‘€

I was invited to participate and repeatedly declined, but my husband pointed out it would be pretty funny if I won, which is trueโ€ฆ

โ€ฆit is indeed extremely funny to both of us that I won ๐Ÿคฃ

We were scored on speed and skill in several challenges: folding a fitted sheet, diapering a baby, throwing grenades (water balloons) to protect the homestead, and separating egg yolk from white using only the eggshell.

One older woman seemed to have it in the bag with her perfect sheet folding and accurate aim, but I must have beaten her on time and egg separating.

Good thing it was a contest of skills, not strength of belief in the importance of gender roles, or I would not have won:

- a snazzy sash

- in-jokes with my husband I will never live down

- a cast iron skillet

- a silk flower bouquet

- the โ€œbabyโ€ we diapered which was a cloth doll handmade by one of the judges, which makes Sophia extremely giggly and happy

It was fun! The energy of the spectators was intense, especially for fitted sheet folding. The organizers picked good challenges and good prizes.

As a bonus, it was a minor point of humor for me to see the menfolk holding the babies during the tradwife competition ๐Ÿ˜

what a fun competition. I'm afraid I wouldn't have done well. I suck at cracking eggs even though I've done it hundreds of times.
