If you're custoding funds in your own node, then I would have a stand online Linux box that ONLY does that and ONLY over Tor. But people run nodes for many more reasons than just self custody. Not to mention, you dont really need a personal node to self custody, it just allows for more privacy since you can broadcast a transaction to it alone and have it reach the network over Tor for your whirlpool activities.

Looks like they're going to have to anyways. They're either a money transmitter or not. Wouldn't really make sense that you could use without KYC below a threshold.
