The long lead up to WW2 and the role empires played. Britain, France, Belgium & Netherlands all had colonies. Italy, Germany and Japan were the upstarts who wanted some of that action too. Very interesting. I’m about 100 pages in. It’s 900 pages long so it’ll take a while at the pace I read!
