Yessir. That's exactly how it works. I'd guess we had a 75-80% volume reduction just from the steaming, no mashing or pressing at all until I squeezed the last tablespoon or so out of the leftover pulp. Started with roughly a gallon of grapes and ended with 3 quarts of juice.

My mother in law picked it up at an Amish store, I'm guessing it or similar would be available online.

I really enjoyed The Chronicles of Narnia earlier this year.

Last year I read through the Little House series for the first time. That was excellent, I look forward to teaching some of the low time preference lessons in those books to my children.

It's a steam juicer. Does a great job, when I get back home I'll note a picture of the box

It's probably nothing right? Cow farts are way worse even though there's less cows than there were bison and bison are bigger. Right?

Very fun. My wife is talking about making juices for kombucha flavoring 😋

New toy:

Making concord grape juice with grapes from 100 year old vines

I have more questions for the person who thought a town of 60k could support an additional 15k-20k people. I'm sure a 25-33.333333% population increase has had no negative effect on health service availability, school effectiveness or food availability

It's gratifying to me when my young sons recognize food plants. They recently pointed out wild blackberries that had no fruit on them. They recognized the canes and leaves. Kids are cool.
