Celebrating one month on #Nostr today!
To sum up my brief time here…
Nostr, a simplified social experience.
Here, there is no algorithm pushing what an entity wants me to see.
There are no ads attempting to sell me things I don’t need.
There are no NPCs here. I can speak with real, like minded people and share ideas in an instant.
If I see content I like, I can pay the creator in #Bitcoin and if I create and good content, people can pay me in Bitcoin.
If I want to be discovered, the capacity in which I’m found is up to me.
I want to take this time to express my gratitude to all the people who have helped me, followed me, commented on my notes and replies, zapped me, and overall just made my time here one of the highlights of my year. This community is the best.
Here’s to all of us and the future.

I had a conversation with my wife about this the other day. I look back on my 20s and realize that I was a baby and knew nothing. I'm 33 now and have grown and learned so much since that version of me. When I'm 40, I'll be thinking the same thing about 30 year old me. When I'm 50, I'll be thinking the same thing about 40 year old me. And on and on. The learning , the humbling, never stops and I'm ok with that.

I agree with some parts of this note.
Nostr is in its infancy and, like Bitcoin, it’s going to take some time for adoption to occur. This protocol is currently very niche with Bitcoin a huge part of it. I think current and new users need to manage their expectations. You won’t go viral here (at least not yet). You may very well scream into the void for the foreseeable future. But to not build your content on here would be a mistake. You may wait years before you harvest the seeds you plant on Nostr. But I do think the wait will be worth it.
I do think the Bitcoin content of “number go up” or “printer go brrr” is boring. The Bitcoin community needs to showcase more of how Bitcoin fits into their lives and how they spend a portion of their sats. I would find that content so much more interesting.
