Some restrictions are weird.

I had a Namecheap account for 5-6 years with a lot of domains on it. A few months ago, they sent me an email hey we cannot provide services to you anymore because we've detected that you are located in Iran! Well referring to OFAC providing VPN, VPS and such services are allowed. Even Biden encouraged providers to do so. So I assume this as an illegal act from Namecheap.

Most of the sanction regulations are restricting people not government or regime. Clearly, It won't do anything to US or Israel if the artists receive a few dollars from donations.

They won't restrict it, I mean there is no way to get paid "directly" from Iran but if you can receive the payments indirectly it's allowed and they won't ban your account or the payments. As you know Google and Apple already know where we live all so if they want they can easily restrict access to their services. I already use some paid services from both and I know a lot of people are receiving payments from Youtube here.

Sure. I uploaded my first music and everything was fine. When I tried to upload my next track I had some troubles. I sent an email to their support, they said everything is fine but still no chance, since I was using a VPN, I asked them if it's related to the problem or not and then they didn't answer to me at first, today I noticed my account has been disabled and my track has also been removed. Tonight I received an email that states they cannot provide service to Iran. It has been stated in their terms of service, but I should also mention that no sanction regulations prohibits Iranian to use such services. So it's something that they have decided. For example SoundCloud and Youtube provides services to Iranian, yes they are blocked in Iran but there is no such restrictions on their side.

The problem is, is it reasonable?

If you read OFAC explanation of sanctions on Iran, you won't find anything that prohibits streaming services to provide services to Iranian, even some sort of services like social media services are allowed. SoundCloud, Youtube, Apple Music all provide services to Iranian accounts. Yes they are blocked in Iran but there is no restriction on their side.

It seems that for now, I can just send links to Spotify, SoundCloud, etc. I will appreciate if everyone interested in my music Zap here in Nostr.

Maybe I can take some time to develop an alternative to Wavlake that is more free and respects artists in all countries.

Wish the best for you and your family. Normal people and artists have nothing to do with all this shit happening in the middle east. We are restricted from both sides, our own country and others!

I had an email exchange with Michael, who seems to be the founder of Wavlake, to help me with this issue. I mentioned that I could not upload another track, and he asked me to send the track image and some screenshots of the problem. After that, I mentioned that I was using a VPN because Wavlake's authentication server is not accessible from Iran. Could my VPN be the reason for the problem? He did not respond to me, and today, when I tried to upload my track again, I noticed that my account had been disabled and my track had been removed.

Just search for my track Sand Hill, it's not there anymore and I'm not able to login with this message: disabled

I'm more into Nativescript than React Native, the same concept but with easier access to the native APIs. If it works for you please let me know.

I might be awake but come on :)) it's 3:30 AM not a good time for Yoga. Have you tried to only record yourself? Otherwise I might only join and watch you 🤪

For an unknown reason, I'm not able to upload my music cover art in #Wavlake. There is no error message and the console log is: Undefined.

Still struggling with different browsers, different internet providers and VPNs to make it work.

There is no such option here as a normal user, admins might have invite code but it needs an email address in my dashboard

Cooool! It seems Sand Hill has gained some listeners, Maybe it's time to upload Frozen Parts.
