Been really struggling to cope with finding out that my dad has terminal cancer. I’ve become somewhat of a relay for my family and colleagues (my dad and I own a business together) and it is rending my soul to pieces.
I’ve been trying my hardest to distract myself with technical projects and learning, and feel called towards an idea born of personal pain and fueled by love. I would like to share this idea, to find out if it is cope or something real. I do not have all the skills necessary to build it myself, but in an era of Open Source Software nothing is out of reach. So here goes:
The Elevator Pitch:
CaringBridge + GoFundMe + #Nostr + ⚡️ = NostrBridge
Connecting family and friends confronting hardships using #Nostr and #Bitcoin
Goal:
Create a Website / Nostr Client / Portal that makes it easy to spin up & manage private relays / lightning addresses (hosted or self-hosted). Making it super easy for anyone to be an administrator of the relay and verified w/ their keys.

With just that seed of an idea, you can begin to see the potential for good. We could connect people to a cause, verify the person who is running the relay, and be able to provide a way to transmit value to them on an open and permissionless system without anyone taking a cut.
The cause could post up various things that need funding, or charities to help people express their love and support. Endless potential.
Above all, it could connect people in a way that has never been possible until now. Enabling them to support each other without the need for a middleman.
