I mean if we all would start now, free services could become easily unsustainable. But they have a way to be sustainable and even profitable now. So this is not the case.
How would you convince people? Seems a tough job.
I guess one way is, we start doing it to support the tools we like. Then other people see it, and it might catch on.
But sounds hard to compete with "free", when they have huge infrastructure behind them. So basically they have a first movers advantage.

I am test using it. So far awesome. What I noticed so far, is I have to reopen the app if I want to see instant receive.

I guess, if people have bitcoin, they value it. So if you want them to give you their bitcoin, you must give them more value then their bitcoin. This is kind of hard, coming from an economical view of you are forced to buy things, because your money will worth nothing. Also probably bitcoiners time preference is longterm, therefore they are not rushing to buy things. Maybe I am super wrong.
This is somehow expecting competing products and services.

Maybe we shall look into make bridges between other not decentralized social media, and allow interaction between them and nostr. That could be fun.
They could. But I guess, if a mint has one user, and you know the node of the mint, you know the node of the user. Therefore, you lose privacy with it. But not fully sure.
Nostr seems like an echo chamber.
