Your comfort is your enslavement.

Not a huge fan of RFK Jr., etc. etc... But I heard him on Tucker today, and it struck me:

"Nothing is a crisis; everything is a task."

There are so many layers you could unpack from that, from spiritual things to finance to innovation.

The Bible agrees with this idea in 1 Peter 1:7, "And the proof of it is this: that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold which is perishable, though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

This thesis is given more validity in James 1:12, Philippians 4:13, Psalm 23:4, and more...

TL;DR: Make sure you DYOR on services offering sats back on your everyday spending. It may not be worth it.

I recently heard the CEO of Fold ($FLD) on a podcast talking about how users can earn "1.5% back on mortgage, rent," etc.

Excited, I looked into this.

As with most exciting offers, it turns out to be too good to be true.

After reading that it's in fact "up to" 1.5% back on ACH bill pay, I look into the tiers for sats back. It's also only available to paying members, at a fee of $10/mo.

At my tier (up to $5k/mo in bill pay), I'd make 0.25% sats back, and those sats back would wind up being less than the $10 fee. So I'd be better off smash buying $10/mo extra...

It would be worth it if your expenses are pretty high, but for me the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

YMMV

Not really my sort of thing but seems to be popular here

Meh, I saw them as I was searching around for disclosetv stuff since they repost their content, but it looks like they also clutter their page up quite a bit with other content that really does not strike my fancy.

It's not a super big deal; I was just curious if there was an easy "oh yeah right here" solution that I was missing.

Added it (to search and general) per your suggestion, and nada. Even cleared the app and reloaded.

Wow I must be doing something wrong or something. When I go to that page, the most recent note is from 2 days ago, then 12, then 16...

I saw this one (and other clones), but unfortunately they all seem to be lacking real-time posting updates. Big bummer... Thanks for your help

If you consider disclosetv, zerohedge, and the like "MSM," okay then. I'm looking for suggestions, not a purity test.

Implicit in using "DYOR" the way you did is that the research I'd be doing may not rely upon any news outlets, independent journalists, etc.

Probably not the banger of a comment you were looking for

#asknostr The only thing I miss from X after moving to nostr is having solid pages for breaking news and macro economic analysis. Any suggestions? #introductions

Already not liking my #bitaxe.

I thought that after setting it up and becoming more involved in the network I'd feel some satisfaction.

It's only shown me that it's insufficient. It's rated for 625 GH/s, but it's averaging about 700-750 out of the box.

I've heard in the past that miners are loud, and this one can definitely be heard from several feet away at night if I listen for it.

I've heard that miners suck down tons of energy which can make my electric bill sky high, and this is using like 12.5 watts.

I'm completely unsatisfied with my purchase.

I should've bought more.

Getting my #bitaxe up and #mining feels like a huge accomplishment, despite not sounding like it as I type this. Looking back at the progression from a no-coiner to a pleb to a HODLer to a miner in under 4 years (1 cycle), it's been a pretty rewarding journey. Feels good to still be early.

A) Lyn asked explicitly where to allocate capital.

B) Do you not want to grow grow grow the number of users of bitcoin and other freedom tech?

C) Do you not consider bitcoin a form of money money money?

D) You're clearly a far superior person, especially among bitcoiners, and should be revered as a leader in any space you venture into.

Telegram always glowed like a honeytrap to me. It masquerades as privacy/freedom tech, but it is not so.

To your last point about where to allocate capital: Invest in content creators and/or users who migrate to freedom tech. The lack of algorithm-fueled dopamine hits will leave the average user bored and cause a loss of interest. Engagement, zaps, interesting content, and easy onboarding will make a "normie migration" far more likely. Nostr is currently a giant circle of jerks pontificating about bitcoin, crypto, and like this post, freedom tech. Platforms like this need content creators who bring diverse ideas and opinions to create real conversation. Sponsoring (paying) content creators whom you may disagree with, but who already have a following, to come on protocols like nostr will drive a network effect of engagement and adoption.

And hey, you may get more #bitcoin adoption while you're at it.
