Your comfort is your enslavement.

We've found that donating old things and simplifying the amount of "stuff" they have throughout the year increases the value placed on each thing.

Kids can definitely be ungrateful, and sometimes less is more, especially on Christmas morning. This year we simplified stockings and gifts to fewer, bigger-ticket items, and there's already been far more enjoyment in each gift.

Even during the unwrapping process, it was less of "let's hurry to unwrap the next thing" and more focus on what was actually gifted.

I do like the new tradition idea!

Being a parent giving gifts to my kids is the best version of #Christmas.

As a child receiving gifts, I always felt an awkward pressure when receiving gifts, which made the process uncomfortable and took away from the experience.

Now that the script is flipped and I'm giving the gift, I find so much joy in seeing the glee on my children's faces as they unwrap the gifts that we got for them.

This must be a taste of how Yahweh felt giving the gift of salvation through his son, Jesus.

One of the problems with #Christianity in America:

I was listening to #Christmas music on a "Christian" radio station, and they started playing a song exclusively about Santa Claus performed by a group with an openly gay lead singer.

This is the one time of year when songs about Jesus are gladly played by and listened to by nonbelievers, and they chose to promote Santa and gay singers, using listener funds to do so.

The biggest impedement to Christianity is the westernization of it.

Thoughts and prayers, bro. May start a GiveSendGo for you to help you get back on your feet

If you say "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Xmas" instead of #MerryChristmas, you're what's wrong with society.

Make Christmas Christian again.

This month marks 4 years since my first #bitcoin purchase. In that time, I've gone from a no-coiner to a pleb to a hodler to to a #miner to now, thanks to #strike, holding 0 dollars.

What a time to be alive.

What's your strategy then? Do you float monthly expenses in a bank account, or do you use something like strike to pay bills directly? Or do the gift card shenanigans?

I'm always curious how people live on 0 in order to hopefully garner tips and hacks.

Odell and Mallers have convinced me that those who will "never sell their #bitcoin" are actually admitting they're shorting bitcoin. #changemymind

It's 2024.

If you still wear a mask or have one hanging from your rearview mirror in your car, you're gay.

Nope, still planning to continue it.

The safe haven thing should just be a one-time deal of filling out a form and deciding how I want my cost basis assigned to which purchases.

The simplest thing I can figure is look at my current average cost basis and bulk edit all of my buys through the end of this year so that the cost per unit is whatever my average cost basis is.

Starting next year it'll be easy peasy, especially if my sales of btc are limited to the "walled garden" of strike.

The bill pay feature by nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 was the nudge I needed to go all in. I now have no USD. Still getting accustomed to that concept. I know that in the long run I’ll be better off but right now I can’t help but stare at the BTC price and worry slightly.

Anyone made the jump to go all in experience this?

Also weird not DCA-ing after years of the daily purchase. Can’t purchase when you’re at $0 USD. 😂

I took the plunge too! Definitely a weird feeling, but oddly exciting when those bills hit, knowing that I'm actively shorting dollars. I also take solace in the fact that I literally can't hold any more bitcoin than I do currently, so byebye fomo and wishing I'd bought more.

Re: not DCAing -

I'll offer some unsolicited advice and say you should probably still transfer off platform to a hardware wallet periodically as a "DCA" to mitigate platform risk and squirrel sats away in self custody so you can still bank some freedom money. Despite how solid they've been for me, your strike balance is still only an IOU. NYKNYC
