Oh - first time talking to me?
Oh and I forgot to mention: They are super nice! But I guess I already knew that from having met Chinese folks in real life.
Things I learned about China from 72 hours on Xiaohongshu:
-They do not pay property tax (and yes they do own their own homes - not state owned) which is partly why they have so few homeless people.
-They pay way less for groceries.
-They have beautiful Christmas markets.
-They enjoy freedom of religion but are not allowed to evangelize or go door to door preaching.
-They are appalled that we have to pay for ambulances here.
-They have their own cowboys and rancher subculture.
-Mandarin sentence structure is almost just like English (subject, verb, object).
-My name is ζ°θ₯Ώε‘ π
Yep as it turns out the CCP doesnβt really want our data as much as we were told they did hahaha
Welcome Ian! π€π

And if youβre wondering if Iβm redownloading Instagram now that TikTok is back: fuck no. Iβve had a lovely day without them.
Well, folks, TikTok is back already and here was the notification π
Hahaha. Well, we still have the desktop version of #TikTok yall. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Not lately. Folks from over there were looking for an app that has video creation tools like TikTok so they mostly moved over to Xiaohongshu / βred noteβ
Yeah Iβm waiting to see how it shakes out. In the meantime Iβm on Xiaohongshu
Lol funny enough I was just yesterday talking to a non-American over there who has the same name spelling as you
Now Iβm curious if non-Americans can still see or engage with American content on #Tiktokβ¦ anyone know? Like can you still see me @ garden_variety_jess ?
