Someone might see more trans people online and think that it's spreading like a virus even though it's unlikely that they will encounter an actual trans person the next time they go outside.

For example, Stallman makes it clear that he isn't found of right-libertarians, but that didn't stop him from working with someone like ESR during the early days of the GNU project. Stallman has also appeared on right-wing shows like InfoWars.

Contrast this with someone like Drew DeVault who constantly writes hit-pieces of people he doesn't like on his blog and goes out of his way to make sure they are blacklisted from as many communities as possible. Drew DeVault wants the entire FLOSS movement to cater to his narrow worldview.

I don't like RMS's personal politics, especially his stances on COVID, but at least he knows to keep them separate from the free software movement and the GNU project.

Basically you still have private ownership of the means of production, but you favor democratic policies and stronger social programs to "help the little guy".

At least that's what I'm told. Apparently it's different than "democratic socialism".

That account just mirrors posts he makes on his website. He always had Social Democratic leanings. I'm surprised that many people don't realize that until now.

Also a reminder that even though Ross Ulbricht was innocent, he was also an idiot for making subtle hints about running Silk Road on his LinkedIn profile.
