Generating a community around you takes leadership and initiative.

Just like with your finances and health if you are not proactive in gathering like valued people around you, it will not just happen on its own.

I know quite a few successful 50+ year olds who thought that love and relationships would simply happen once they got their finance and fitness ducks in a row. Now they are struggling.

Affirm to yourself: “I love that I’m at the cause and not the effect of everything that happens in my life.”

“What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”

- RW Emerson

You find your own core. That’s the point. It looks different for everyone.

It sounds like you’re lonely, in pain, and/or in need of love.

I will pray for you.

The women and children are at home making life beautiful and meaningful. They are the ones that benefit most from a man strengthening himself and his bond with a brotherhood.

The elders should be the men themselves. Or older mentors and guides sought out for council in difficult decisions.

Then go do something better and make your life not suck so much that you have to complain about things and people you dont know and dont understand on the internet to appease your emotional triggers.

A strong man or a group of strong men are at the center of any thriving community.

If you want to build a citadel, start by building your own mental and physical fortitude.

The old man and the sea just makes way more sense to me know.

Serendipitous story:

A couple weeks ago a guy named Tony slipped and broke his hip at the river spot by our house.

He was laying there and was told that the ambulance team could not get him (probably due to the hike out)

We were alerted to all this going on and checked out the situation and offered our help, parking at our house, and access to our trails.

The med team showed up a while after and we were able to get him on a stretcher.

& then it was up to nostr:nprofile1qqsy6sd8e0ym0algfpx32jv64y2pcule5wwrwewvt4trr7s705mr8nqpzamhxue69uhhqctexgcjumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpz4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuum9wgcjumn9wshs2sj73a nostr:nprofile1qqs0jcrnm34kmw0y6ftdnga06u3zcu96pw0ax6ljqcy0dfput9gu0ssprfmhxue69uhkummnw3ezummtv95hguehx5engtnwv46qz9nhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wszda5dq nostr:nprofile1qqspcjc3fr04lh3scqz4plffm6jfdjawptusaavuztru540us6p5vdgprpmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctvqy28wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hsxz2tzn and I to lug him up the hill. No breaks.

We successfully got him to the ambulance. Tony is alright now and actually broke his femur in 2 spots.

So yesterday, I show up to urgent care looking and especially feeling like an absolute mess.

We we’re talking to the receptionists going through what tests I want and next thing I know I’m summoned into a doctors office.

The medic from the rescue day is the doctor at the urgent care. Doctor Edgardo. He saw me come in a couple days ago and saw me looking even worse yesterday. So he pulled me in and started going through everything.

I got a full check up, extra bloodwork, a just in case xray, some ivs, and a set of antiobiotics ALL FOR FREE.

There’s a lesson in there.

Update. I feel good for the first time in a week. I wanted to surf this morning, but was heavily peer pressured not to 😂. Pv.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

By no means am I an exemplary Christian, but I find so much truth in this verse that I have to share this morning.

When seeking the social and material abundance that we desire first it will always be just out of reach.

The deep satisfaction that comes from connecting to God and devoting yourself to his calling on your life will ignite the gravitational force that attracts “all these things” into your life in more abundance than you could have ever imagined.
