#[0] just watched your 10 tips for using Nostr from YouTube and the part about “growing your following” on Nostr made me think

Nostr is kinda like the pre-search-engine internet because no one is creating an algorithmic feed to discover people like in traditional social media. (Feature not a bug)

I dunno if people remember this but before search engines (believe it or not) people would publish magazines of websites to check out. People would subscribe to the zine because the topic-specific zine was the best curation of great new sites.

I wonder if you (or anyone else) could curate a Nostr “zine” for a niche of Nostr accounts. This pattern helped get the internet off the ground and might be a great way for growing everyone’s following. 🤔

Anyone know of folks writing about the rights of digital persons?

Since AGI feels less than 20 years away for the first time ever, I wonder if the discussion is happening yet.

That’s possible for sure. But I remember seeing some smart, well-intentioned folks working on ways to create an opt-in blocking mechanism so users and/or clients can block what they decide is spam.

But there is definitely a long way to go!

True enough! Can’t wait for relay selection on the global feed

Any recommendations on people to follow for more of this?

Who on your feed do you enjoy the most?

You know what I like about nostr so far? It’s just people talking to people, posting about what they care about.

So much of social media now is broadcasting a brand, hot takes, and trying to make a statement.

My feed feels so wholesome, I love it.

How do you find folks you like to talk to?

I was! I still like to scroll through and find the rare nuggets. It’s how I found most folks I follow (Bitcoin bigwigs + a smattering of early nostriches 😂)

Lots of fun convos out there

I wonder if that ought to be a native concept in Nostr. A blocklist that relays, clients and or users can subscribe to to filter content they receive/store.

Just switched my NIP5 verification to be via nostrplebs.com instead of my own website.

Not sure if this is the right word but it almost felt pretentious to verify myself 😂

I know it makes no difference technically, but this just feels better.

Thanks to #[0] and #[1] for sharing ideas and resources in their podcast.

Got verified using GitHub pages, that’s a nice shortcut. Thanks for the tip 💪
