Oh, I thought you were asking about the Hersh story. Hanania is…a guy that writes things, and often quite well.

It’s way more plausible that Hersh, being in his 70s and working independently now, could be fooled by a Russian agent posing as a US official, than that Putin had tapes of Trump getting pissed on and was using them as blackmail to get political concessions, especially considering the source of that claim.

He’s the journalist that dropped the story claiming the US was responsible for the Nordstream 2 bombing. His claimed source was an anonymous US official, but I was speculating it could have instead been a Russian agent posing one. The guy is old, and works independently now as I understand it, so he could have been fooled by a sophisticated actor.

Hanania got outed as having advocated for white nationalism when he was in his early 20s. I think he did a great job explaining why he was like that when he was younger, and how his views evolved (they actually had, long before he was outed).

Does a great job of distancing himself from his early political writings, without making it some kind of groveling apology.
