I think they've been focused on other things, and they've been very receptive to the crypto community.

If enough people make enough noise, I don't see why Mr Trump wouldn't consider abolishing the capital gains tax on spending.

You're being too optimistic here!

Unfortunately I think most just won't ever get it, and they'll go for the only solution they know: rob others through the State.

Erm.. people running away with your sats because it's custodial is the essence of being custodial. That's the tradeoff, you're trusting them.

Why people ever thought getting fiat IOUs from online strangers in return for their perfectly good sats is beyond me.

What did you think would happen?

To say nothing of the part where all the sats just sit on a live wallet on a server.. but then again that's the lightning network as well.

Like the livestock, until one day, "out of nowhere" ..

It does, to a point. Unfortunately now transparency has been normalized by the surveillance coins, so simply using Monero is suspicious.

Sad that it's gotten to this, but also, it was entirely predictable.

I beg to differ. They are all not the same and they are better than the alternatives.

We can be better or worse served by the politicians elected.

The problem imo begins when people EXPECT politicians to solve THEIR problems.

Be as anti-State as you wish, the truth is that it's still a very powerful institution.

Political power is a zero-sum game. You can ignore them, but they won't ignore you.

This being the reality of things, it's not a bad idea to have people in power who think more like us.

This is VERY different from not taking responsibility in life, or expecting some politician to fix everything™

Too often in nostr it's all very white and black on this topic.

Be happy we got Bukele, Trump and Milei, and not more leftists. Be happy the world will be a little bit more free in many ways because of this.

Just don't expect them to fix everything. That's just not realistic.

Inequality will always exist.

The question is, is it because the game is rigged and scammy, or because the winners deserve to be there on merit?

And can others climb the ladder and become wealthy with vision, hard work and some luck, or are they barred to do so by onerous regulation, discrimination, artificial barriers, etc?

Sound money should help. But it won't eliminate inequality. Iy will just make inequality the only kind it should be: fair.

By fair I mean, you get out what you put in. And you are rewarded for it.
