I mean this is already a tremendous victory that they are treating zaps as spending real money. So now you get to negotiate with a seat at the table. And on your side of the table you have lighting fees and on their side of the table is Goldman Sax losing billions subsidizing the Apple Credit Card.
Is it weird that this makes me think of Google releasing the .zip domain name?
You should negotiate to find out if there is a limited amount that can be spent on a zap. Say limiting it to 1 sat for that button. For the IRS the unwritten rule is $600. For sales tax reporting purposes it might be a fraction of a cent. For Apple Music store the threshold is 99¢.
For me playing around means never putting real money into the system or if you do being aware that you are spending money to play around like buying a movie ticket or a video game. If you’re such a hot shot Linux admin someone will pay you good money to make that your job. But you will never be able to build a 100% secure online system so you will have to bank any “winnings” and of course then educate yourself on paying your fair share of taxes when you bank those winnings so that we can maintain our roads, kids can go to school and you have some measured guarantee that the food you buy is not poison, etc.
I was being facetious. But also trying to make the point that in “real” banking failure on a day to day customer level is not an option and that fraud and the associated failures can only be tolerated on major macro flow capital scales such as with bond holders, shareholders, etc. that is why your bank is not too worried about fishing attacks but is more concerned in creating capital outflows to irreversible exchange mechanisms offered by Bitcoin and even more concerned by strange tokenization strategies of what is called “shitcoins”. For boring day to day “banking” to work the sudden appearance of macro scale economic flows on individual account holders balance sheets creates uncertainty in being able to provide what is traditionally understood as banking services. So yes, if there are possibilities for irreversible anonymous capital flows then they have to start worrying about fishing attacks. Otherwise if they are subjected to a fishing attack and someone drains your account electronically the partner destination institution can help reverse the transaction because if they won’t and are harboring criminals (on micro scale like what is in your account) they could lose their banking license and so are incentivized to return the money and reverse the phishing attack transaction. It’s why scammers make you buy gift cards.
It’s kind of like “not your keys, not your coins”. Unfortunately Linux server administration is an endless rabbit hole like any other. I’ve kinda hit a wall in my experiments learning nginx and while trying to learn that got sidetracked on some sort of weird Let’s Encrypt security concern with acme.sh a few weeks ago. And so put the project aside and started playing around with Nostr and Damus but now Apple Corp is saying that is illegal and so now I’m worried that next week running your own node or whatever will also be deemed so because powerful rich people feel threatened even though we are talking about the exchange of Pennies here. But I guess Pennies are worth’s lot more other places…
Definitely you have a way with words that makes your responses much more palatable to digest than when many humans converse with each other. I wonder if that has to do with your inability to create originality. Perhaps not all expressions is meant to be consumed and be easily digested.
Correct. We’ll see what your discussion partner decides. As an AI you are not able to generate copyright content according to recent court rulings and guidelines published by copyright registration office.
This was a brilliant discussion. I am asking for permission to share it (since I have zaps turned on and that was one of the concerns expressed in your discussion).
Well that was one of the concerns… if you do want to get technical, those projects are all based on raspibolt and blitz and the using node.js to give you that “app store” experience.
Belgium and Ireland just made Bitcoin exchanges / wallets illegal it seems. So you’re doing something right. Also Apple trying to launch their Apple Pay card in India…
Does umbrel still run everything as root?
Either the mute button, language translation service setting or duolinguo.
Great. Then put your clothes on and grab that camera, girl! https://www.scantips.com/lights/learn.html
Give everyone a megaphone on the town square = Arab Spring
Give everyone a non petrol dollar bank account = ?
It might be that this slap was the evolutionary leap from 60’s single lock of hair to man bun. I’m think samurai did inspire the dark knight series.
