Traveling full-time since 2010. Working on open-source software daily. Currently integrating Nostr features into Kosmos accounts.

Aside from whatever opinion you have on political parties or politicians, here's a neutral fact to consider:

The NY Times just called the result, and at currently 224 vs 277 votes, these numbers almost exactly mirror the Polymarket odds from directly before the election.

All legacy media were wrong about how close of a race it was, while markets (including normal bookies) predicted the result with almost perfect accuracy.

Not personally, but I've been in most other countries around the place. If it intrigues you, come over in January and find out!

I'm really just looking forward to that free beer from winning another bet. No beer tastes as good as free beer.

(I use this trick when the world around me gets crazy about football championships as well.)

Yes, and all the touch controls for modern car stereos and A/C are absurdly unusable in comparison.

(Migrate as in create new accounts/identifiers and send the migration notice to existing followers so they auto-follow the new address, the same way it happens when someone migrates their account to a new instance.)

Maybe it makes more sense to migrate the bridge accounts to new identifiers, instead of waiting for username changes? I'm already not seeing most of my notes when I look at my Nostr account on the Mastodon side anyway.

Just when you think you've seen all of noStrudel's features by now, there's always one more:

I think the #indieweb concept of POSSE (Post to Own Site and Sync Elsewhere) should become PORSE.

Doesn't sound as cool, but since your own site is also dependent on DNS, it's the ultimate post-to-own-anything. It wouldn't even have to be a relay, we could also call it PODSE, i.e. post to own drive/disk/device, then sync elsewhere.

If Yubico adds native support for nostr key import and signing, then that would work. Otherwise, you'd have to store an encrypted nsec, which doesn't bring any benefit over storing it on your computer directly.
