Philippines is "Patient Zero" in Social Media Disinformation
The Marcos regime is well on its way to cracking down on Vloggers who peddle disinformation in the country from outright lies, to propaganda favoring former President Rodrigo Duterte.
But there is a thin line between filing cyber-libel cases and exercising censorship.
Personally, as an individual Filipino, I feel nothing when I saw these youtube vloggers crying their hearts out in the Congressional hearings where they were grilled as to why they post videos of outright lies.
They reportedly earn Php 20,000 a DAY (roughly $347.65 USD/a Day), and all they have to do is to concoct a tale of this and that about their demi-god idol, Duterte.
This period is a critical correction period where the government could either underwhelm and let these vloggers go, with a slap on the wrist, or set an example of them.
I've had my share of fake news being shared to me by neighbors - even false information about volcanic eruptions when there aren't any. The effects of fake news is pernicious, but so is censorship.
After all, it's the trademark of the Marcoses to exhibit dictatorial tendencies.
Are there "acceptable diffs" in reproducible builds when comparing split apks derived from AABs? - it's nice that developers from different projects collaborate with @WalletScrutiny to find solutions!

"Custodian Scrutiny Project" update
So the scoring in itself, is an interesting exercise. Here we are condensing qualitative data into quantitative data. Currently, the scores are computed on a per page basis - based on the markdown values (kinda like boolean values). So for instance, a true value gets a certain score....
For example, the custodian uses cold multisig wallets: true - gets 10 points.
The challenge arises, when trying to display these scores in the "Custodian Front Page"
If the individual page doesn't load, the scores aren't computed. We have many choices:
1. Don't display the score in the front page
2. hard code the score as part of the md
3. Compute heavy - calculate all the scores while the front page is loading.
In the interim, I will opt for option 1 and continue adding other custodians and fact-checking information.

Update 2024-09-06:
Review: AquaWallet APK Build
We followed the AquaWallet build instructions outlined in the repository, using Docker to create the build environment. Despite attempting various fixes, we encountered a critical issue preventing the successful build of the APK.
Steps Taken:
Created Dockerfile: Drafted a Dockerfile based on the repository’s build instructions to set up the required environment.
Ran Docker Build Command:
docker build -t aqua -f aqua.dockerfile .
Encountered Error: During the build process, the following error was encountered:
aqua.dockerfile:17
--------------------
15 |
16 | # Run 'make setup' to pull all dependencies and pre-built binaries for GDK and boltz-rust
17 | >>> RUN nix develop --experimental-features 'nix-command flakes' --command /bin/bash -c "make setup"
18 |
19 | # Build the APK
--------------------
ERROR: failed to solve: process "/bin/sh -c nix develop --experimental-features 'nix-command flakes' --command /bin/bash -c \"make setup\"" did not complete successfully: exit code: 127
This error indicates that the command failed to execute due to missing dependencies or an issue with Nix’s experimental features. The make setup command, essential for pulling all necessary dependencies and binaries, could not be completed.
