I recently saw a demo of a game engine plugin that gives every NPC an interactive personality by way of an LLM that is prompted to match the algorithmically-generated person’s appearance. Everyone on the endless city street had a backstory and some sort of purpose that was revealed once spoken to.
Something about it reminded me of how we’re all emergent of and held captive by the same underlying universe, and yet we still perceive ourselves as distinct and separate.
