OK, so iv only been on here for a couple of weeks, and I'm certainly no social media expert, but:

People here don't tend to check the global thread, which is the only place your posts would be seen if you aren't followed by anyone, or using common hashtags such as #nostr and #plebstr

Best thing to do is to build up your own feed, fill it full of hashtags you want to follow (in amethyst this is by searching in the global feed), then start following and interacting with accounts that post interesting stuff. Everything else will come in time.
