Any courses (preferably udemy or youtube) you recommend before embarking on this plestr course? I messed with HTML and CSS as a kid and tinker with rasperrby Pi for some simple homelab stuff, so I'm not completely lost but I am MOST DEFINITELY a novice with plenty of time who hates his job and would love to pivot to coding and possibly work in the space.

1. I would argue that Bitcoin is simply codifying property rights. If major governments attacked it, that would only serve to prove that their nature is authoritarian. Under that regime, black markets would grow and Bitcoin could actually gain traction. Also, due to its global nature, it would be difficult to effectively ban it for a sustain period of time.

2. If quantum computing advanced to the point of threatening Bitcoin, it would first threaten other weaker security models. Bank encryption could be targeted first, forcing updates to encryption that would be effectively quantum resistant. Bitcoin would eventually be soft forked to upgrade to modern security needs.

I will explain to him sha-256 and the significance of it. And how it's unhakable because of its algorithm. And I'll tell it's Unconfiscatable. And if or when quantum computer breaks sha-256 which it's virtually impossible we will switch to sha-512 algorithm and continue being self sovereign

They’re making the case themselves. Confessing that it would be pushed to a black market is admitting that governments can’t ban it, they can only ban themselves from using it.

I think something like that is a good place to start.

The main issue is that following or friending someone != trusting someone. Especially when trust is contextual: maybe I trust you to rate movies but not fashion. So perhaps the next step requires the ability to attest: “I trust by amount, with confidence, to rate ” where context would be some category of product.

I did a little bit of work on a web of trust system called "web of distrust" which identified people who you or your friends have muted or blocked

Currently you could use NIP-32 for reviews. But you’re right, there’s currently no web of trust based system in place to filter the good from the bad.

Do you have ideas on how you’d like to do that?

There is no rating system or comment-based rating system. It seems very easy to give your store many fake 5 star reviews so I don't want to do that until I understand better how to use a web of trust system to probablistically identify and filter out fake reviews.

I've got some ideas about how to fix this. I think I will cache the buyer's purchase message and not show them their proof of payment until the buyer's browser verifies that at least one of the relays got the message.

I’m 99% certain I’m not cut out for development. Every time I try to follow instructions to do one thing, I get error upon error upon error. The code hates me.
