Are you a user? I've been considering it, and would be very curious to hear others opinions.
Proudly a pleb, I don't care if I'm inferior. I'm just gonna live, love, and pump out that constant positivity on Nostr 🧡⚡💜
As an aforementioned "normie user" I do like this idea. I'm not here to use Nostr passively, I came to understand the technology and learn. I'm not looking for my client to abstract more of the details away from me.
That's what I suspected, appreciate the response. I'm for sure going to dive in and learn more now.
In regards to your original point, do you think there is anything specific that clients can do to help with the way users perceive relays?
On it. I appreciate the advice, I'm extremely curious and determined to learn more about this 💜
Can multiple people back up data on a relay? Or is each individual relay centralized?
I'm seriously considering it 👍
Do you have any recommended info for average users to check out to get a better understanding of relays?
That's basically what #[1] is doing. Maybe he'll make another one!
A true triumph of human achievement!
It feels like each and every day the public consciousness inches closer and closer to realizing how fucked the fiat monetary system is. Only a few more inches after that = #Bitcoin 🧡⚡
After some tuning from what probably was the first[1] message posted by SMS on Nostr, here is the code!
sms2nostr is a proof of concept of a sms-to-nostr gateway that permits a user to post notes on Nostr using non internet enabled phones and IoT devices, or feature phones when the network is not available.

Can be useful? Crazy and useless idea?
Beta live playground available!
If you want to try it right now feel free to DM me, I setup a USA number that can receive sms from all over the world.
This first test instance will be shared publicly as soon the code will be a little battled tested, follow me to keep yourself informed.
Special thanks to #[0] and #[1] for reminding me that Twitter was born with SMS support, so why not Nostr? :)
[1] #[2]

We are so amazingly fortunate to get to watch this innovation play out live, thanks for sharing and building cool stuff 🧡
Love this. I'm a software engineer as well, and take frequent breaks. In my opinion, getting exercise in the middle of the day is the most important habit I've had to improve the quality of my code.
🥩 A pound of beef a day keeps the doctor away 🥩

Only the best grass-fed, regenerately raised beef, in #NorthDakota for this #carnivore
Do you think that Nostr might be able to help solve the second part of that problem?
I always tell my engineering interns that often times we as developers get myopically focused on learning specific frameworks, but there is a macro skill in programming: abstract problem solving.
This is the skill worth pursing as it can be so easy to get lost in the minutia.
Where I'm from, that would mean seven hour shifts in the winter and sixteen hour shifts in the summer time 🙃🌄
What is the ideal amount of government intervention?
I certainly hope not! ⚡🧡
I live in Fargo, ND. It's currently -20°F and the days are SHORT in January.
But you know what? Rather than complain about it, I choose to approach it with #gratitude. The cold weather allows me to more deeply appreciate the summer and I get to have natural cold exposure. ⛅❄️💪
