It's been so detached for so long, people have forgotten it's pretend. They beleive it to their core.
Worse still, without an anchor, their limits are bound by imagination instead of real world constraints.
It's easy to beleive you're a fish when you've never been stuck underwater.
Propoganda, social engineering, safe space maximalism, etc... protect the LARP from engaging with reality.
A bubble of fiction and make belief.
