I have been able to curate my Reddit experience with my 3rd party app in a way that I never will be able to on the official app. I might even be willing to pay a small amount monthly to keep it, but the cost is their API is going to be too high. Honestly I don't think it's about money, I think this is about censorship. They want to herd everyone into their own walled garden so they can have more control over the content.
I don't think voting is completely useless like a lot of people here do. I do think abstaining from voting is completely useless. Even if the media is rigging the elections by controlling narratives, and the parties are rigging primaries so you only get a choice between two stooges, you still get to make a choice about what the lesser evil is. And sometimes someone slips through the cracks that truly wants to make the country better and isn't as easily corrupted as the rest of them.
