When you need to sun your balls but it's cloudy outside.
I don't think it's unreasonable for a condo complex to have an HOA. There's too many shared expenses and there has to be some organization to deal with it.
When I move into a house there is no way in hell I'll suffer an HOA.
So I'm on my HOA board (against my will) and we had a meeting today in which we discussed how much to raise dues because the reserve is dwindling and we need to be in a certain range for blah blah blah. Anyway I picked an increase that would bring the monthly dues to $420 simply because lol 420 and it got approved. I live to serve my community.
Pretty much every time I cook a frozen pizza. I stopped buying them because of this.
Do you ever eat tortilla chips that are too big and they scrape the corners of your mouth but you keep shoving them in because they're so good but then your mouth corners are all fucked up because of the salt and acid from the salsa really irritated them and it's a sensitive area already before you recklessly gorged yourself on chips and salsa but you probably didn't learn your lesson and are going to do it again because you bought 6 lbs of tortilla chips from Costco and they need to get eaten? Yeah, me neither.
As a former pizza delivery driver I always recommend people pick up their own damn food.
I AM perfect.
I HAVE NEVER made mistakes.
I WILL NEVER make mistakes.
GFY.
They're shutting down the freeway to fire a bunch of cannons for the VP visit. I'm sure it's just a coincidence it's on the same day as nationwide protests 🤔

Your news app hasn't been working for me for a few days.

Control if the media has been consolidated into the hands of a few people and most of what is going on is suppressed from appearing in mainstream news. Even opposition news sources are afraid to be too critical because the Trump admin has been using the govt as a weapon against anyone speaking out against it.
There are plenty of outraged people and huge protests have happened, but they are minimally covered. Have you heard of the "No Kings" protest? There was one a couple months ago with 100k+ people turning out in every major city, and there's another this Saturday, but you probably won't see much reporting on it.
The only place I've found where I feel like I see what's really going on is Reddit where there are daily posts about ICE rounding up and detaining people with no warrants and no due process. Doesn't matter if they are citizens or not, they base their actions on the color of your skin. Lawful citizens and residents have been held for days and even deported.
I don't think the left is defeated, but it is being beaten down and suppressed and people are afraid. The current admin wants them to violently fight back so they can justify even more extreme measures, but they have been mostly peaceful despite all the law enforcement attempts to provoke and escalate things. Anything that even looks like a riot or property damage will be run on a loop in the media despite 99% of the rest of a protest being peaceful. Unfortunately it's a bit of a catch 22 because undisrupting peaceful protest is pretty easy to ignore.
Anyway that's how I see the situation right now. I know Reddit is considered a left wing shithole, and it may be true, but I think it's a bigger risk to let yourself be locked in to one media bubble which makes you susceptible to propaganda. I just try to remain aware of the bias and skeptical of everything I read, but when I see daily videos of peaceful people being chased down by guys in masks I have to believe that it's happening on a large scale.
Thanks God.
I have decided to weaponize my bad luck and pessimism for the good of humanity by betting in favor of bad outcomes on Polymarket.
Hi it's me, your low-effort nostr fake scammer. Send me sats and I will double them.
Damn, I didn't expect v30 to kill Bitcoin this fast.
I doubt it has anything to do with they article. Entire market just dumped all at once:

Interesting, I wouldn't have guessed. I actually like Coin Stories a lot for this reason. Nat brings on a lot of Bitcoin skeptics who are usually sympathetic to the arguments in favor, but just not quite convinced it's the answer.
I never said anything like that. What a disgustingly bad faith argument.
Highly recommend looking through nostr:nprofile1qqsf2ds69dp2ympzhtpmdd46f3w2cnfkjphtpnaesf5xs8z95vqu2xqpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0a6dhfp 's posts. I don't know about the other devs, but at least he's out here putting in good faith efforts to educate and argue for the core dev's position on things.
They also kill vermin, so it's not all bad. Can confirm my apartment stinks, but I've never had a roach problem even though I see them around the complex sometimes.
Fair point. There's definitely a "someone else will take care of it" attitude about code review prevalent here. I do hope someone is looking at it though.
I use it as much as I can, but the opportunities are limited in the US. I think Phoenix has the best non custodial UX. I stopped using them and closed my channel when they pulled out. I'd go back to that if I wasn't getting my own node up and running soon.
Wallet of Satoshi is the best pure lightning custodial experience, but they pulled out of the US so I stopped using them, though I still have the app on my phone and it works.
Currently I use Strike to pay lightning invoices using my cash balance so there's no taxable event. Not that I would report small transactions anyway, IRS can go fuck itself. They have the best mixed use app between buying Bitcoin, being able to pay lightning invoices, free withdrawals on chain, etc.
Once my node is up I'll start experimenting with Zeus and other options.
In the last month I've bought a leather wallet, a Start9 server, and soap with Bitcoin. The first two were on chain though since they were larger expenses.
Should Amethyst start with a menu screen with all the devs screaming at each other?

Yes.
The post was deleted, but I saw a meme titled "NEVER question Bitcoin" on Reddit last week. I commented that we're never beating the cult allegations.
You know what, I'm dropping out of the OP_RETURN debate. I've read good and bad arguments on both sides. I chose a side and argued for it, running my mouth off about things I literally only learned a few days ago like your average internet expert. I think I've learned enough to know now I'm at the bottom of the Dunning-Kruger trough now. I'm cooked.
But I can't leave it at just that, I have to give you my current opinion. I don't think this matters that much. The monetary use of Bitcoin will outcompete anything else because money is the best use case.
After reading the SN thread nostr:nprofile1qqsf2ds69dp2ympzhtpmdd46f3w2cnfkjphtpnaesf5xs8z95vqu2xqpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0a6dhfp linked me (below) it seems that this is mostly about keeping the protocol running smoothly. Node runners want to be gatekeepers to the mempool, but they really can't. There's always going to be a way around any individual node's mempool policy if the transaction is valid according to consensus rules. Creating friction around that is probably not healthy for the network.
I don't want to invite spam, but we've already weathered an extended period of it and Bitcoin is stronger than ever. If this invites another wave of ordinals style bullshit so be it. If it stops other bullshit like embedding data in complex multi sig fake pubkey schemes that might actually be worth the trade off.
Alright, that's it. I need to go touch grass.
I don't want to be on any lists (not that I was being considered anyway).
