It's time consuming & expensive to maintain, host websites and apps. From my experience that's the biggest reason most website eventually go down.

On Nostr Band, in their TOS, I remember they wrote that the website would remain free until they figured out a way to make money so they could pay for the hosting and more.

Recently the jelly fish relay said they quit because they couldn't make money to pay for the servers. It's not easy to make enough money to pay for sever costs especially since Nostr is still quite small in the amount of users.

What happened to the Nostr Band website? It's been a long time since they've been down. Is it dead.

Seems to be an ssl issue, easy fix. I used that website often. Now I need a new website.

I might have to try to install the ditto pub soapbox software again then I won't need nostr band.

you need an ssd, I tried running it on an old spinning disks and it's was a terrible experience. I just copied the Blockchain from my other node so didn't have to wait a long time. It wasn't a big hurdle

I do really like the ditto pub website but not sure if they are getting updates either.
