I was upset about the typo at first, but it still works.

You can get rid of the but by blocking him...

Can't zap me if I don't comment, but I can't be a smart ass without commenting πŸ€”

I liked Garfield best for some reason πŸ’€

Time to go to work!

Depends on who's dreaming. There is definitely a significant portion of the population that thinks living entirely on passive income is the ultimate goal.

It's the American dream! Get rich and live a life of leisure by using your wealth to rent seek.

What if the "then they fight you" phase is not as bloody as we all think it will be? Wouldn't that be something...

Everyone's a future billionaire in fiat eventually πŸ’€

I think it's just lack of knowledge/experience. There's lots of guides and the Pi looks like the simplest and coolest solution. Once you get the node running then you start going down the personal server rabbit hole though, and the Pi just isn't built for it.

Definitely not the hardware then. Must be Umbrel. I'm planning on using Start9 when I finally get around to getting a node back online.

One of the reasons I don't trust Umbrel and a shitty little Raspberry Pi with a bunch of lightning channels.

I have a passphrase and an SD backup as well. There is some Bitcoin held under just the seed, but most of it is behind the passphrase. The SD backup I keep myself hidden somewhere innocuous. The partial seed phrase would be kept in my fireproof safe which is what a thief would target first.

I am much more concerned about accidental loss than theft. First of all I trust these family members implicitly, so I'm not worried about them trying to steal or collude. They will know my passphrase without having to have it written down.

If the partial phrase was stolen it would likely be by a petty thief that doesn't have the knowledge or expertise to brute force a partial seed phrase on their own. Once I learned the partial was compromised I would move my stack to a new address immediately.

If I were ever targeted specifically for my Bitcoin I think I'd be fucked no matter how I do my setup. Most likely it would be a wrench attack, and if I was physically unable to give them what they want because of a multisig it wouldn't stop the torture anyway.

This is the best I've come up with and I feel pretty good about it. I already have the 24 word phrase (that Passport gave me btw), so I'm not switching now.

The Bitcoin Standard is so often recommended as something you should use to explain Bitcoin to a loved one or friend that’s interested. I love Bitcoin but it’s probably the worst way I can imagine to Orange Pill someone. Way too many opinions that have nothing to do with Bitcoin.

The Price of Tomorrow by nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe is great. Just a clear description of the situation.

Bitcoin is Venice is also great, explains multiple times why Bitcoin is different from other coins.

I will say stock-to-flow was a great way to explain Bitcoin’s uniqueness but the rest of the book will turn a lot of people off.

I agree. Saif put too many of his personal opinions into it that are completely irrelevant. I almost stopped reading after he basically called all modern art bad. I passed the book on to my brother and had to warn him that the author goes on a few rants and try not to let it put you off.
