Would love to hop on a call sometime! Dm me some good times and we can set something up.
In the mean time nostr:npub19ha7tju4teqp3dmwv4p28wrcy9zd6h6hxkg5mwvjrlfycweazpkse2q0fa and I made a walkthru video of how to build a Start9 node on a small pc: https://podverse.fm/episode/SmqJlJjtj
Always happy to help if you have any questions!
Lol no I'm just poking bears, don't worry I shout at the sky enough too
We all have our role to play.
If every single dev was of the mindset of "growth at all costs, dumb every feature down" we'd have no fun, no innovation, no sovereignty, and no real skin in the game.
A self-sovereign user is worth 10,000 "normal" "everyday" "average" types. Coinbase has the most users but they do not have the most Bitcoiners. Toxic Maximalism is actually a form of love. On-boarding a user to a brand new protocol without teaching them anything new is just empty calories.
When you upload your music to Wavlake, you agree to their terms and their 10% fee and they custody all the sats that come your way. Under the hood they create an RSS feed just like a podcast has, where your album is a feed and your tracks are an "item" in the feed, like a podcast episode.
To self-host, all you need to do is create and host your own RSS feed and have a lightning wallet the sats boosted to your album can land in. I have an example feed that has comments explaining each of the tags: https://github.com/de-mu/demu-feed-template/blob/master/feed-with-comments.xml
There are many of us who are happy to help you on a journey to self-hosting. What is your experience level at webhosting? And do you happen to have a lightning node running? There are many solutions for people at all experience levels, but it's my belief that anyone can learn the skills needed to run a node and self-host music with just a little bit of guidance and exposure!
Uploaded some music from my old band, Big Awesome, onto @wavlake
FFO: good vibes and sick riffs

Next step is to take the self-hosting pill. Wavlake takes Spotify 2.0 walled-garden approach, locks you in a TOS/EULA and custodies all your sats. For the Bitcoin-minded, self-custody is just as important for your music as it is for your Bitcoin and for your social media data (nostr).
Plus once your self-hosted nostr:npub19ha7tju4teqp3dmwv4p28wrcy9zd6h6hxkg5mwvjrlfycweazpkse2q0fa and nostr:npub1ujt5f2qj0nave2m9t0s8jxlwufn8msc0hf62zlql0rd9247yuzwqtzmsud can play your songs on Homegrown Hits!
Hey nostr:npub1f49twdlzlw667r74jz6t06xxlemd8gp2j7g77l76easpl8jsltvqvlzpez you might be interested in this older episode of Mere Mortals where nostr:npub1yvscx9vrmpcmwcmydrm8lauqdpngum4ne8xmkgc2d4rcaxrx7tkswdwzdu talks about his vision for DeMuโฆ

Lol I hope to God I can reach out to him in 2025 and say my site is done ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Yeah, actually nostr:npub19ha7tju4teqp3dmwv4p28wrcy9zd6h6hxkg5mwvjrlfycweazpkse2q0fa and I made a step-by-step tutorial on how to do it on a regular pc, no subscriptions. All you need is a computer and a 2TB hard drive!
Nothing beats running your own node! Some great solutions include Start9 OS, Umbrel and RaspiBlitz:
You can run any of these on your own computer at home!

Shorter than your average Bowl, here's 352 for you! In which I remember #OpCashBack, nostr:npub19ha7tju4teqp3dmwv4p28wrcy9zd6h6hxkg5mwvjrlfycweazpkse2q0fa uncovers more questions and our favorite caller laughs all the way to the bank!
Can you imagine spending countless hours to plan a live concert and not publishing it after the fact?
People can tune in for the live experience or watch the recording later.
Thanks nostr:npub18gp8p84hjmjh9zejdlyqqcg22sj6x3qra0q2ng4v6cxxg95sav8q0mcg5e for publishing these. ๐

Aside from 2 different asks over the past 5 years to put the donation segment further toward the end of the show, I haven't really had much from the audience in terms of a "push." Most directional changes or tweaks to format have been because we get an idea we wanna pursue and so we add it in.
The Metal Moment I suppose might be another example, but instead of a push it was more like the Rev showed up with a fully produced segment each week and we tried it out and it worked well so we kept with it.
The video aspect for us started last February when nostr:nprofile1qqsr5qnsn6medetj3vexljqqvy99gfdrgsp7hs9f52kdvrryz6gwkrsppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qk8hxm helped us install the disco ball, and we're interested in improving the look and delivery of the video feed and I would say Nick the Rat, Redbar and the Satelite Skirmish shows we've been putting together are my 3 main inspiration sources for that particular push.
Downloads are a shitcoin. Views are a shitcoin. Subs are a shitcoin. There is no blueprint. You either build real relationships with an audience yourself or you forfeit your ability for me to take your complaints seriously.
When you get in your own car you can drive directly to where you want to be. Conversely, you don't get to buy a bus ticket, get on the bus and then complain that it doesn't drop you off anywhere great.
