Small towns fail because companies want to maximize profits. When it was fashionable, the manufacturers moved to Mexico. When that wasn't cheap enough, the moved to China. Those that didn't move, bring in immigrants instead of hiring locally. It's much cheaper to do this than pay American workers. They aren't taking the jobs Americans don't want. They are taking the jobs at pay lower than Americans can afford.

As a full time relief/temp teacher, by choice, you don't get much love from schools or students.

So, I was honoured when a student I've known for years asked me to attend a graduation for a leadership course he'd completed. It turned out his parents didn't attend, so I'm not sure if that's why he wanted me there. He also gave me this, as they were asked to thank those they invited, thanking me for talking about Bitcoin so much, what a way to get fired 😂.

I do talk about Bitcoin, and now Nostr, a lot.
