Inventor of the word “spywall”. Proof: https://damus.io/note1crepuk77r7dxpugv8vqh5de8xnatxlu2rmztxd70nuhs686pdfssw28plm I do bitcoin stuff. Heard about Bitcoin in 2011. Didn’t act on it until years later. 😅

Patient: Please sign this form so I can continue seeing my psychiatrist, who I like and who is treating me successfully. It just says you’ve evaluated me and think I’m a good candidate for a psych referral.

Doctor: I don’t know anything about psychiatry.

Patient: Right, you’re not supposed to, that’s why you’re referring me to a psychiatrist.

Doctor: I don’t even know which psychiatrists are good to refer people to.

Patient: I suggest the one I’m already seeing, who was doing a great job until the government demanded I get your signature to keep seeing them.

Doctor: Okay, fine, that will be $200 please.

I keep adding relays and #[2] app keeps deleting them 😢.

Even 3 of the 5 paid relays that I followed I no longer follow because they are deleted. 😤

Looking for freedom, we found slavery.”

This, however, was the point. The art was not the paintings themselves, but the comment they made. We like to think that we are individuals, but we are much more alike that we wish to admit.

30 years after People’s Choice, it seems the landscapes which Komar and Melamid painted have become the landscapes in which we live.

This article argues that from film to fashion and architecture to advertising, creative fields have become dominated and defined by convention and cliché. Distinctiveness has died. In every field we look at, we find that everything looks the same.

Welcome to the age of average.

If you think the boomers robbed your generation, just wait until they all stop working and vote to raise taxes to bail out their bankrupt social security fund.

Please, explain what this does? You run a script that is freshly downloaded from GIT ?

at the core of every complaint about why things can't be beautiful, well made, pleasant to use, safe, slow, relaxing, unhurried, well-compensated, efficient is the simple fact that like ten guys have 90% of the money on the planet

Cashu is a privacy-focused ecash project for #Bitcoin without any funding. If you would like to support it with a donation, please do.

Is the system broken?

Bought my first house in London in 1997 for £64k with combined income of £30k.

Same house is now £730k, whilst the same jobs now have a combined income of approx £50k.

I'm surprised there are not riots in the streets tbh.

Splicing is a novel mechanism for modifying Lightning channels.

Channel balances can be increased, decreased, and swapped without closing out the channel.

This has huge efficiency gains, as well as privacy increases.

I don't want to alarm anyone — AI and nuclear war are much bigger concerns — but the solar system intersects the galactic plane where matter is most concentrated every 60M years. We're currently roughly intersecting it and the last time the dinosaurs went extinct.

Getting increasingly worried about the dev funding situation in Bitcoin right now. A few (really talented) Core devs are losing funding pretty soon; there apparently isn't money enough to go around.

It'd be really nice to see more Bitcoin businesses step up. This could get bad.

Angry bitcoiners in my feed today.

Most zaps are sent via custodial wallets, mostly by WOS apparently 🤔

If this is a sin against bitcoin then I'm a sinner too.

Of course, I have neutrino clients on my phone like Phoenix, Breez and Blixt, but the fact is that zapping goes false on WOS, so why not 😅

There once was a service that ran in twitter. It was called Nuzzle and basically it would look at your entire feed and compile a top 5 of top 25 list of all posts based in metrics like how many likes, retweet or mentions the original message got.

This was a great semi easy because it ment that every morning I would have, maybe 5, long read articled that had floated to the top and that I could read (or scroll through) to be on top off all the important news of that day.

Maybe we can have something similar in a Clint like #[0] #[1] #[2] ?

I’m dreaming of a future in which ecash tokens (like the https://cashu.space/ implementation) will be swapped between different mints automatically in the background without the end-users knowledge.

Today this takes conscious effort. But give it a year or two and wallets will no doubt do this under the hood. Just look at lightning. I remember a time you could only run it #rekless in your laptop or raspberry. Now every decent wallet supports it, often in custodial and non-custodial ways out of the box.

If you are not knowledgable about this then you are not bothered by the hidden settings, and if you do know what it means then you can use these options easily.
