“Community notes” like on twitter, but on Nostr 😃

When somebody is obviously wrong the community note that is visible to all, even those that don’t follow the person who wrote the note, can review it and vote on its accuracy 🤔

I’ve seen many times now that these notes aren’t abused or toxic but help keep popular messages honest.

Maybe this is worthy of its own NIP?

One unique selling point of primal could become the option to block pictures and videos that are not “child safe” or NSFW. How can you recognize such content? Most smartphones today have great ML features. A simple model could be trained to filter all incoming posts 🤔

TikTok grew a lot by putting new users high up in the global feed. To grow Nostr:

1. Get a global feed

2. Make sure new users (even if their posts where not really the latest) show up relatively high in the Global feed.

Who’s gonna build a carpool-over-Nostr app?

Would be great if there was a way to

1. Advertise your route

2. React to somebody’s route and request a pickup and drop off for a small #bitcoin payment 😊

PickupPal.com is… a carpooling site designed to coordinate drivers and riders planning to travel along the same route.

In May 2008 the Ontario-based bus company Trentway-Wagar… petitioned the Ontario Highway Transport Board (OHTB) to shut PickupPal down on the grounds that, by helping coordinate drivers and riders, it worked too well to be a carpool. Trentway-Wagar invoked Section 11 of the Ontario Public Vehicles Act, which stipulated that carpooling could happen only between home and work (rather than, say, school or hospital.) It had to happen within municipal lines. It had to involve the same driver each day. And gas or travel expense could be reimbursed no more frequently than weekly.

Trentway-Wagar was arguing that because carpooling used to be inconvenient, it should always be inconvenient, and if that inconvenience disappeared, then it should be reinserted by legal fiat.

Today I tried to show a colleague at work how useful Nostr is so I opened Primal and searched for the totally innocent word “#nature”.

The first three posts with pictures were from AI generated naked girls.

I wish we could filter out (as in, not who) posts with

1. Pictures or videos at all

2. Negative filter, as in, i want to view #photography but I don’t want to see #NSFW

I know the #hashtags are user generated and could be unreliable, but still this filter option is better then nothing 🤔

Number two is already possible (in my iOS version at least 🤔 )

Hide the ZAP ⚡️ icon if no wallet is set up on the receiving NPUB 🤔. It’s horrible UX if you try to shill Nostr to a friend and zaps don’t work because no wallet is installed at the receiving end 😥

Depends what you are looking for in Amsterdam. I don’t know bitcoin friendly places but I can recommend a few good restaurants if that helps.
