I used to scalp 1000 shares of TSLA at $70 back in the day. Damned if I shouldn't have just held it. Then I moved over to Futures and lost a lot of money there. Now days all I do is hodl and trade BTC to the long side and am very comfortable with that.

I once did that for a whole year but then when I signed up again, to my surprise all of my history and followers were still there.

NIPS needed:

1) "select: ['id']" filter so you only get matching event ids and not the full event 10 times. You can then ask only 1 node for the full event, or skip if you already have it.

2) Bloom filter for "I already have these events, don't send them". Can be resource intensive on the relay side and not usable in all queries.

3) Follow distance filter for authors, so you don't get irrelevant spam. Iris discards stuff from unknown authors on the client side, but would be better if they weren't sent and processed in the first place. Shouldn't be difficult to implement with some SQL wizardry.

Ya, I hear you on the large purchases. Been thinking about how to address that in a non-KYC way once my locked-in RRSP is available. Bitcoin Well ATMs in Canada are great; you can buy up to $995 at a time without providing any information at all. You can do that repeatedly with a new address each time.

Sweet. I'm sure what the limits are here in the states but the last time I bought from a BATM bitcoin's price was a bit over 16k and the ATM wanted over 18k, a 2k spread so I said fuck that and never went back.

Complete bullshit. Personally, I'm willing to pay the extra premium to get my coins from ATMs and P2P trades. This is what is so empowering about bitcoin. Once you experience the freedom, banks and exchanges seem like a joke. It's like we're all being treated like helpless children. Most of the world is still asleep. God damn bitcoin is a breath of fresh air.

I have used BATM's and P2P services like Local Bitcoins (RIP) in the past but neither are good for large purchases so KYC and then coinjoin into cold storage is the only way. Throttling buys and sells does seem counter productive to freedom.
