Tried to explain Nostr to some regular people and yeah, this shit goes straight over their heads.

People love their traditional social media and surveillance.

They usually get a glazed over look when I explain clients and nsec.

For quite a while now, even though I'm a nostr OG I've noticed a serious decline in post engagement, even for the few influencers that still write notes here.

I have two paid relays so its not a lack of reach. I've zapped until my wallet hurt, so its not that.

A few news items is all I get out of nostr anymore, so I log on to read those and then sadly go back to X where I have tons of engagement even though I'm not subscribed to Premium (and will never because Fuck Elon).

Maybe nostr will become hot again someday or maybe its the AOL/Netscape of social media and something greater will come.
