I've been listening to Andrew Huberman's podcast with Dr. James Hollis. It's a great listen with lots of nuggets of #wisdom. Especially the section about "Shadow & Adulthood" is interesting. I'm paraphrasing Dr. Hollis here:
"Shadow work is never going to be popular because it means I'm taking responsibility, but it's necessary and important. It's one of the definitions of an adult person to be accountable for what spills into the world through him or her."

I love Charles Duhigg's closing words of his book "Supercommunicators":
"Whether we call it love, or friendship, or simply having a great conversation, achieving connection - authentic, meaningful connection - is the most important thing in life."
If you are interested in becoming better at communicating and connecting with other people in all areas of life, I can highly recommend this book. It's a rather quick read, with lots of practical advice.

"The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence." -- Thich Nhat Hanh

After reading "Supercommunicators" by Charles Duhigg, I've found that one of the key takeaways is the importance of embracing our emotional side during conversations. However, many of us might be hesitant to do so, fearing we will appear weak or unable to handle tough situations. But Duhigg argues that this is a misconception. By being open and authentic, we can create a safe space for deeper connections and mutual understanding, ultimately leading to more effective communication. Might be worth a try to open up a bit more, even to strangers.

"Forgive other people for many things, but do not forgive yourself anything." -- Publilius Syrus
That's a bit harsh, though. Sometimes it's necessary to forgive yourself as well. A better rule would be:
"Be strict with yourself and tolerant with others."

Entrepreneur Phil Levin on the importance of neighborhoods:
"You are going to spend 1000x more time in your surrounding 5 blocks than you will in any other neighborhood in your city. Thinking about all the things that New York City has—or the next city has—is a lot less important than thinking about the things within the five blocks where you live.
Most neighborhoods in your city you might never step foot in. They might as well be in the other side of the country. But the things in your immediate vicinity are the things that are going to dominate your life. So picking and influencing your neighborhood is really important... the neighborhood determines quite a bit about our life and our happiness."

"The ideal school would teach health, wealth, and happiness. It‘d be free, self-paced, and available to all. It‘d show opposing ideas and students would self-verify truth. No grades, no tests, no diplomas – just learning. Actually, you’re already here. Careful who you follow." -- Naval Ravikant

"Most great things in life - from love to careers to investing - gain their value from two things: patience and scarcity. Patience to let something grow, and scarcity to admire what it grows into." -- Morgan Housel

James Clear on the importance of environment-engineering:
"In the short-run, you can choose to overpower temptation. In the long-run, we become a product of the environment that we live in. To put it bluntly, I have never seen someone consistently stick to positive habits in a negative environment."

Dr. Trevor Kashey in a conversation with Michael Easter about achieving ones goals:
"I believe people should be doing less and eliminating limiters to progress. It's more effective to modify the behaviors and thought patterns that are keeping you from progressing."
