-) Financial wealth (money)
-) Social wealth (status)
-) Time wealth (freedom)
-) Physical wealth (health)

Shinzen Young on the importance of cultivating a meditation/mindfulness practice:
"Concentration power impacts every aspect of your day because there is no part of human experience that is not affected by our degree of presence and focus."
"Because meditation elevates your base level of concentration power and because concentration power facilitates all human endeavors, the question 'what's meditation good for?' has a simple answer: meditation is good for everything."

Another true and insightful quote from James Clear about weakness:
"You can ignore your weaknesses, but you can't expect them to not impact you. The weakness of the coach shapes the players. The weakness of the teacher influences the students. The weakness of the parent molds the child."

Tunnel 29 by Helena Merriman is the most harrowing true story I've read in a long time and it's more relevant than ever. For those of us who are too young to have experienced the cold war first hand, it is a reminder of the stark differences between communism/socialism and capitalism. In the escape story of East Berliners to the West it becomes crystal clear, how much suffering, fear and terror the overreach of government can inflict on individuals, families and whole societies. Unfortunately history tends to repeat itself, people forget, stories remain untold. It's our duty to learn from the past and to not make the same mistakes. Reading Tunnel 29 and spreading the message is a step along this path.

James Clear's suggestions for orchestrating a peaceful moment:
-) Close your eyes and just breathe for two minutes.
-) Leave your phone in another room for an hour.
-) Watch a cloud form and then dissolve.
-) Stand in the sunshine and notice how it warms your skin.
-) Light a candle and watch the flame dance.

Mark Manson on discipline:
"Discipline is conditioning your brain to not give a shit if it’s hard or it hurts or it sucks. If it needs to get done, it gets done. Doing hard things is a habit that must be practiced, or, like all habits, it will be lost."

You can have freedom, or you can have equal outcomes. You can't have both." -- Naval

C.S. Lewis on the importance of small decisions and acts:
"Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible."
