#[0] Even if you can get it working with the hardware, windows is a HOG compared to linux and it's extremely unlikely to be able to run it without constant slowdowns and crashes. Not to mention windows has a very "fuck you" attitude with disk space, which on Chromebooks is a precious resources.

Overall, bad idea.

I'm trying to think of a use for git annex that wouldn't just make things more complicated overall. The only thing I can think is I have a old Chromebook I repurposed to use linux and its hard drive is like 8 gigs. I could use that to check files in and out of a server but why would I not just use sshfs at that point. I can't really use it for images because I won't get thumbnail previews on anything.

I guess this is why I've never heard of it.

#[0] #[1] I have to OS hop a lot lately and linux UI stuff is honestly so bad I've just bit the bullet and started using CLI for most things that aren't video/image/browsing. It's been a hard transition but it's not as hard long term as I expected. I find that typing CLI commands requires

less mental context switching than UIs and in turn it seems to help me focus better. Maybe that's why a lot of pros like it, but I wished somebody would have told me that earlier rather than the usual attitude of "HA YOU USE GUI LOOOOOL LOOK AT ME I'M SO QUIRKY AND OBSCURE"
