#[0] oh yeah well

TIL the "Earther" community believes earth is real
#[0] I don't know much about it for overall computing power but its key feature seems to be reducing algorithm complexity of NP Complete problems. That would be a very big problem for RSA.
#[0] big shit (real)
I've been using neeva for about a week now (free tier). There's no question that it's better than current google by a moderate margin. Nowhere near 2014 google but that's a distant legend at this point. Google still beats it for (forward) image search, but if you need regular search and are sick of google you should probably give it a shot.
#[0] I'm relieved to know it works on RSA but in general not AES.

in my "so paranoid about security that I'm looking up quantum cracking" era

#[0] #[1] anything that's boilerplate will definitely be the first to go. I'm actually okay with that since much of my job is writing stupid boring shit that nonetheless we can't find humans who can competently do it without fucking it up in some baffling way.
#[0] #[1] #[2] probably, but high level architecture I feel like is still a ways away. Web devs may be in trouble because much of their job is just gluing things together in The Only Way You're Supposed To Do It ®. You'll notice that most sites these days are just copy and paste clones of each other. I can easily see an AI doing that. A full fledged desktop app? Not so much.
#[0] #[1] #[2] man, I don't fear AIs coding as a coder as much as a consumer. The problem is that AI is good as producing answers that look correct but aren't. poppinwillow couldn't even correctly perform a SHA hash. It may be enough to fool business execs who control the money, however.
talking to chatgpt feels like talking to an adult that believes in Santa Claus
:gun: :shrigger: <-- he get that shroney by shrelling shrugs from his shrection shr8 shrousing
the worst part about the lockdowns is it shut down most of the good coffee places around here, and the ones remaining aren't open on weekends anymore
I think I'd find chatgpt more entertaining if it didn't talk like an insufferable HR lady
#[0] yeah I've had an account here forever but I got on full time when kfcc went down. Not sure I'd move back even if it did come back up. Apparently josh made that a priority now.
I love to sing-a
