#^Trump opens a new migrant prison and appeals to alligators to watch over her
U.S. President Donald Trump traveled to Florida on Tuesday to headline the opening of the "Alligator Alcatraz" migrant detention center, a facility surrounded by alligators and located in a protected ecological zone. The prison was built in record time of less than two weeks, on the runway of an abandoned military airport southwest of Miami, within the Everglades ecosystem, considered one of the most important wetlands in the country.
The facility has generated outrage from both environmental organizations and pro-migrant groups, which denounce violations of federal environmental protection laws and demand the "inhuman" nature of the site, specifically designed to house migrants with criminal records.
According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the center will have up to 5,000 beds, be surrounded by dangerous wildlife, and function as a logistics hub for what the government describes as "the largest mass deportations campaign in American history.".
"The facility is in the heart of the Everglades and will be known informally as 'Alligator Alcatraz'. There is only one access road, and the only exit is a return flight. It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and relentless terrain. It will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process and care for illegal immigrants with criminal records. It is an efficient and low-cost way to conduct the largest mass deportations campaign in American history," said Leavitt.
On the alligators, Leavitt said that their presence serves as an element of passive security: "Well, look, when you have murderers, rapists and individuals who have committed heinous crimes in a detention center surrounded by alligators, yes, I think it is a deterrent for them to try to escape.".
The prison, whose name refers to the famous Alcatraz prison and the alligators who live in the wetlands, has been strongly questioned by ecological associations. They argue that the facility was built without consulting the necessary environmental protocols and that it puts at risk a region rich in biodiversity, which is the habitat of endangered species.
The idea of lifting this prison came on June 18, when Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier proposed using the airbase as a containment site for migrants. Since then, dozens of large tents have been deployed, similar to those used during the COVID-19 pandemic, in an effort to expand detention capacity quickly.
The operation of the center will require an annual investment of close to 450 million dollars, as confirmed by Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, in statements to The New York Times.

La cárcel fue construida en un tiempo récord de menos de dos semanas, sobre la pista de un aeropuerto militar abandonado al suroeste de Miami, dentro del ecosistema de los Everglades, considerado uno de los humedales más importantes del país.
La instalación ha generado indignación tanto en organizaciones ambientalistas como en colectivos promigrantes, que denuncian violaciones a las leyes federales de protección ambiental y reclaman el carácter “inhumano” del lugar, diseñado específicamente para albergar a migrantes con antecedentes criminales.

La cárcel, cuyo nombre hace referencia a la famosa prisión de Alcatraz y a los caimanes que habitan en los humedales, ha sido duramente cuestionada por asociaciones ecológicas. Argumentan que la instalación se construyó sin consultar los protocolos ambientales necesarios y que pone en riesgo a una región rica en biodiversidad, que es hábitat de especies en peligro.

The vote was held today, 25 June, in the Iranian Parliament. The outcome of the same has agreed to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This situation followed a 12-day Israeli war in the opinion of Tehran, the IAEA paved the way for aggression.
Iranian Parliament President Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said: "The IAEA, which refused to condemn even marginally the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, has put its international credibility at auction.".
Ghalibaf also said that the decision to suspend cooperation will be in place "until the safety of nuclear facilities in Iran is guaranteed.".
Ghalibaf stressed that "the peaceful nuclear programme in Iran will move faster.". He added that "Iran has no plans for non-peaceful nuclear activities. But the world has witnessed that the IAEA has become a political tool rather than a neutral inspection body.".
The bill has been passed by most lawmakers and awaits final approval by the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

La votación ha sido hoy, 25 de junio, en el Parlamento iraní. El resultado de la misma ha acordado la suspensión de la cooperación con el Organismo Internacional de Energía Atómica (OIEA). Esta situación se ha dado tras una guerra israelí de 12 días que, en opinión de Teherán, el OIEA allanó el camino para la agresión.
El presidente del Parlamento iraní, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, ha expresado: “El OIEA, que se negó a condenar siquiera marginalmente el ataque a las instalaciones nucleares de Irán, ha puesto en subasta su credibilidad internacional”.
También ha expresado Ghalibaf que la decisión de suspender la cooperación estará en vigor “hasta que se garantice la seguridad de las instalaciones nucleares de Irán”.
Ghalibaf ha subrayado que “el programa nuclear pacífico de Irán avanzará con mayor rapidez”. Y ha añadido que “Irán no tiene planes de realizar actividades nucleares no pacíficas. El proyecto de ley ha sido aprobado por la mayoría de los legisladores y espera la aprobación final del Consejo Supremo de Seguridad Nacional de Irán.
Tras la votación y el resultado que hemos señalado, los legisladores han coreado estas consignas: “Muerte a Estados Unidos” y “Muerte a Israel”.
