Go and Flo’s dad ☺️

I’d love a nostr-based, bitcoin infused recipe app! I wanna zap the peeps that create the recipes and watch live streams of people preparing and cooking.

I’m excited to announce the launch of $prism.

Nostr is many things, but most importantly, I believe that Nostr is Bitcoin’s first layer three technology. Bitcoin solves money, Lightning solves payments and Nostr solves identity and coordination. Similar to the Bitcoin and Lightning protocols, the Nostr protocol is permissionless and decentralized.

Nostr solves identity using a simple public key that works across any client. Nostr solves coordination by directly connecting Lightning wallets without intermediaries via Nostr wallet connect (“NWC”) and Lightning address (or ideally a future Nostr native equivalent).

There will be many incredible bitcoin experiences built with Nostr. We are making prisms.

Lightning prisms without Nostr are hard to coordinate and execute. It requires figuring out each address, a way to coordinate payout amounts, and someone taking custody of the bitcoin for a period of time to manage payouts. So we’ve seen almost no one making prisms.

Now with Nostr, they are incredibly easy. Want to create a prism on Nostr right now? Type $boost into the text of your next post on any client and we’ll make a prism with the first 10 people that repost it. We’ll post the prism on nostr:npub12u7xgzak939jlap3fnev05eky6d4ntwr4lrs03kgnnfd9njmtvrsr9jjmt and you can zap it with any client that supports zap splits like Snort.social or Amethyst. Want to limit your prism to a smaller group of people? Create a listr on listr.lol like #friends and type $boost #friends. We’ll only create a prism with users that boost your post and are on your #friends list.

With NWC, payments all complete wallet to wallet, no intermediary necessary and we never touch your bitcoin. The possibilities are now endless for building new consumer experiences on top of Lightning and Bitcoin.

We started $prism to push forward the bitcoin experience on Nostr. We’ll be launching more prism products over the coming days. Follow nostr:npub1arcweuxy0zkdcg08sljh058qp02ytrgnpzh4csa3ar42szyfgrpsw6ggtw or go to https://makeprisms.com to learn more.

A special thanks to nostr:npub1ce7d8cdg8k49dnl3da34mvhah8kevxfsq2vdguq6trngapqfsdzsnv3d7m who has been an early thought partner and the first contributor to $prism and nostr:npub1s9etjgzjglwlaxdhsveq0qksxyh6xpdpn8ajh69ruetrug957r3qpklxzl who is our newest contributor.

nostr:npub1cd0l3s6qgj0s6690rtkys39mgj5upwxpm4856nhmce0pyqu6xj9qh7xlvx any thoughts on how we could use this for nostr:npub1stemstrls4f5plqeqkeq43gtjhtycuqd9w25v5r5z5ygaq2n2sjsd6mul5 to enable splits between artists who collaborated on a track?

HBD Google! It’s wild to think that it’s been 25 years 🎂

Exactly. In my mind it’s a fully open sourced tool to allow for listening experiences across any app that wants to integrate. Would be great to pull wavlake, fountain podcasts and other audio sources as they emerge. Could be very powerful as a cross-app engagement and discovery tool for new folks to nostr.

Totally! I love the concept of being able to listen while browsing. I had a concept for a thing called Jukebox that is meant to be a mini-player micro app that can live inside of clients. It’s absolutely wonderful to see you exploring this space and I’d love to collab if you’d ever be interested! #freethemusic

Coracle 0.3.7 is out! If I've been quiet lately, it's because I've been busy. This release has a whole lot of really useful stuff in it, so I'll be doing some videos over the course of this week to highlight certain things.

For example:

You can now listen to music published to nostr from stemstr while you browse.

Coracle now has a local relay that you can export or import to from your "Database" settings page.

Lots of content filtering features, including word muting and content warning support.

The notifications page has been overhauled, and now has much more context.

And, of course, as usual I completely re-wrote the backend to squash some annoying bugs related to whether or not you've read a notification, deleted a list, or joined a chat room.

Here's the full list:

- [x] Add local relay

- [x] Reduce wait time for person feeds

- [x] Add global music player

- [x] Support bech32 entities in long form content

- [x] Add support for profile website

- [x] Speed up reaction/reply loading

- [x] Add content-warning support

- [x] Link to github for feedback

- [x] Fix chat room joined status

- [x] Fix list deletion

- [x] Reduce repeated notes in feeds

- [x] Add database import/export

- [x] Use a bloom filter for deletes

- [x] Remember reply drafts

- [x] Topic/keyword mutes

- [x] Add person mute list to settings

- [x] Split out content settings into its own page

- [x] Improve quote loading

- [x] Show quotes even when media previews are off

- [x] Stop cursor events when menu is open

- [x] Restore document title on back

🤙

“It is the merchant (rather than consumer) that will drive the shift to bitcoin payments but in terms of early adoption, it will logically be those who credibly understand why bitcoin will store value over time.”

I’d like a DVM group that I can converse with and collaborate on building a nostr client. Even just the basics could help us to understand how we can collab with agents in the creation of nostr apps / micro experiences. Agents within this group could be tasked with:

- describe the customer and their needs / job to be done

- fetch and organize kinds depending on what you’re trying to display

- lay out the UI and explore UX approaches

- work with generative imagery / 3D mesh to bring the visual design / emotional layer into the experience

Gimme a translation, good sir 😂

The thing that I believe they’re doing well is humanizing an experience of bitcoin in a simple and elegant way. I also really dig the “Family” concept of having a few people with vault access.

Unsure about open source and I don’t know much about the company. Good questions tho.

What’s theatrical about it?
